Australian Domestic Cricket

Had a feeling our bowling attack would be a problem although thought Copeland would be more the issue but he seems to have gone alright. Starc was 3 runs from 2 overs last I checked and now he is 30 off 4.

and nsw get one more their way, klinger sweeps and is hit in front, it was a good shout and given, but the left armer was angling it down leg.

Peter George doing what I was hoping from Copeland. A good season from him could put him back into the test frame and the thing he has over Butterworth and Copeland is that extra bit of pace.

Butterworth is quicker than he used to be. George might be too. Trouble is that he barely gets picked for anything other than first class games and it's hard to get something you can compare objectively.

Handscomb just smoked NSW 2nd 11, scored 233 in 280 balls. He looks to be one to watch out for, already played cricket in England and made runs for Leicestershire 2nd 11.

Butterworth can bat, Copeland has the current spot and can field in the slips (and he's a blue bagger :yes), George may be a little faster and deserves to be looked at again after only one Test. They've all got something, but it seems like it won't matter - the Pat Cummins juggernaut will steamroll them all for a Test spot by the sounds of it.

Ye one to watch this season. I liked the look of him on test debut, has the potential to be Australia's Tremlett.

Hmm, don't like the fact that bowlers are bowling up to 13 overs in the Ryobi Cup.

I think the interesting thing with the game in Mackay today was that with Brad Ipson injured, it didn't seem to hurt Queensland's attack much. It probably wasn't much of a spinner's wicket in any case, but they didn't have to use part-timers unnaturally as a result.

I don't think one dayers in Australia have ever really been focused around the batsmen, but it seems fairer to see a bowler get to go on while he's hot. It's more natural and perhaps rewards bowlers more for bowling properly rather than just trying to send down six different slower balls. There are still periods of high scoring in these games, but it feels more well earned.

Oh well too bad for you because I think it's great. I'm sick of seeing guys like David Hussey or Adam Voges bowling a handful of lame overs just to fill in a quota, better to see the best bowlers bowl more often IMHO. I'd love to see the rule apply for ODIs. Maybe only 11 or 12 overs though.

NSW squad: Stephen O'Keefe (capt), Sean Abbott, Tim Cruickshank, Josh Hazlewood, Moises Henriques, Scott Henry, Simon Katich, Josh Lalor, Nicolas Maddinson, Peter Nevill, Ben Rohrer, Mitchell Starc.

Really scrapping the bottom of the barrel now. A guy from another forum rates Lalor as a good swing bowler, but he might not get a game as Abbott was in the bowling spot last week. Henriques will need to step up as there ain't much batting once the openers go.
