Australian Domestic Cricket

Obviously there's an advantage for SA with their spin where Tas would usually have one thanks to Doherty and there may be a ploy in preparing as dry and flat a wicket as there has been all season.

However, they've gotten this far by producing seam and swing in the first session and then chasing down scores below 270. This not only their highest score for the season, but also only the second time they've batted first. They do themselves few favour by nullifying Putland and omitting Mennie.

I mean Cosgrove was in awful form all season and now he's suddenly at his best. It's a dangerous game to be doing that when one of the batsmen is Ponting.

Some runs from Bailey here could shoot him up to next batsmen picked for the ODI side. Lyon showing the goods too, gives us the option of 2 spinners in an ODI match.

Need to start attacking O'Brien and Theo if he continues, run rate getting out there and Putland/Lyon seem to be causing problems.

As I said, they should start going after Putland and Lyon to unsettle the Redbacks and leave them unsure of who to turn to.

Putland just dropped the Ryobi cup

He's dropped the world cup

Close call for Bailey, I thought he was gone live, but made it with plenty of inches to spare. Riding his luck, would've been gone with direct hits earlier but survives this one.

Where was the dive Duroropolopus?

Cooper will be on Ponting's Christmas card list, dropped him twice now.

Thank god for technology.. feel bad for Bailey, would've been a great moment to score a century to guide your team to the cup.

Holy ???? what a tense finish.. can't believe SA pulled it off, Tassie were cruising with Bailey and Ponting at the crease and some pretty atrocious fielding from the Redbacks. Even more heartbreaking for Bailey now.

gutted to see bailey gutted

that penultimate ball where there was half a run to mid on, they really should have run it anyway just to swap the strike.

Goes to show that technology has to be used for precisely these kinds of situations. Have to think Bailey would've gotten hold of those last deliveries if the lbw decision wasn't given. I thought Tassie would still do it anyway, but completely changed the game.
