Australian Domestic Cricket

Yeah, I think this winter has been particularly tough on Wade and he'd still benefit from not being the Test keeper, having that time to work on his game from a different viewpoint. This would make for the most conventional Australian development process seen in some time; the up-and-comer in limited overs and the veteran who needs an unreasonable amount of force to topple.

Jeez Henriques is killing it, if he can keep this going through the rest of the season and back it up next season then that Baggy Green could be on its way at long last.

Oh yea, its about time Henriques fulfill his enormous potential that was on view when he captain Australia in the 2004 under 19 world cup.

Solid start to the season by Khawaja, likewise McDonald. Certainly got some batsmen putting their hand up for selection.

^Australia need some batsmen putting their hands up!! If Warner can't get his front foot out (among other things) he'll be very vulnerable to Steyn/Morkel/Philander, and Cowan is only ever going to be an average international player in my view.

Agreed on Cowan. Which is why this could be an interesting season for someone like Chris Rogers. Great to see Hughes going well again and the critics can't put an * to this knock saying it was the flat deck of Adelaide oval. Cutting is one dam handy lower order batsmen, just needs to get his wicket motor moving.

Double 50s, Hughes is probably going to do some serious carrying. Cooper and Ferguson back to their normal inconsistent best.
Gutted about the massive break for NSW, was looking forward to Henriques and Smith batting again.

Yeah, SA look a bit weak this season. They have quite a few youngens/rookies in their squad.

So what's different to every other season?

Unlike the Warriors - who look pretty good on paper then deliver stuff all season after season - the Redbacks look gash on paper and deliver stuff all season after season.

Though now I think about it they did win the Ryobi last season.

So that's better than that bunch of frauds out West.

Phil Hughes must seem thoroughly out of place in the Redbacks change rooms. I'm hoping for a bloody marvellous season from him as long as he doesn't expect any help from the rest of the team. But I think he's pretty good at playing in a bubble and if he isn't, he'll soon learn.:yes

17 games without a win for SA, but I think they're heading in the right direction. Their top 4 are each unquestionable players, ones that might want for consistency, but a settled number nevertheless. Travis Head is going to be a good player. Christian and Botha will be a real boost to the side and they do have enough bowling talent. The ability is there, but consistency is the goal.

Aaron Finch has scored a century? Which universe is this?

Oh and Chris Rogers delivering . Seriously, this pitch must have been laser levelled.

Laser leveled for Victoria, as vicious as a pit bull for Queensland. This season has seen a couple break their mental barriers, first Henriques and now Finch.

I was thinking that Victoria were in with a shot going into day 4, but wow. That's some killer instinct there. Stark change of gameplay from the one dayer, but I didn't even feel like it such was a ropey pitch. It had a bit of bounce, a bit of reward for hitting the seam, but no balls whizzing like leg breaks. The success of Siddle and Wade suggested to me that a lot of batsmen were done by their footwork.
