Australian Domestic Cricket

I haven't seen any youngster putting his hand up in Grade cricket or the u19s level. Looks like we will be playing some of the late 20s guys, not ideal as I always prefer having players that are in contention for the national team.

NSW aren't in a good position suddenly. Wonder if they'll go after other batsmen to replace the big 4 of Katich, Jaques, Khawaja and Hughes?

Coyte probably, Cruickshank perhaps. Tremain was promising, Patterson obviously. Lalor and Doran might sneak in. I think they fancy Scott Henry. It's not like rely on the young players to post results. They pick players who catch the eye and offer potential. Numbers are used to show you've developed.

On the other hand they could turn to players like David Dawson or Greg Mail.

Hughes moved to SA, don't know if that is the wisest move considering his home deck.

Indeed and considering his technical woes, going to play on the flattest deck in AUS is very puzzling.

I hope this is the changing of the tide for Henriques. Unlucky Smith, just can't seem to get that elusive 100.

I wouldn't say it's normal for a number 5 to get lots of hundreds, but it wouldn't hurt.

Marsh getting dragged down a bit especially with Whiteman at the other end just looking to spend some time in the middle of a real match.

At least perhaps their lower order might be able to get them the last 50 odd if they do move it along from here. On paper it's a bit funny that 9 and 10 have made first class hundreds, while 7 and 8 haven't.

Abbott has tried bouncing Mitch Marsh, but is getting a bit of a pasting. WA need 107 from the last 10 with 4 wickets in hand; it's somewhat plausible, if not overly so.

Our depth for big hitting in the 50 over format is starting to come along nicely. Mitch Marsh obviously has been identified but always good to see him show us again.

Disgusting to see Bollinger and M Marsh in the kind of form i suspected they would be in at the moment, but instead of showing it on the world stage in upcoming T20 world cup - they are stuck back home doing it in domestic cricket. :facepalm

Nah, it will do a youngster like Mitchell Marsh far more good to face up to a decent quality bowler like Bollinger (and Copeland) in first class cricket than for either of them to be at the Big Crapshoot. We all know Marsh can smash the ball around but he needs to learn the discipline required to score first class runs. He's too young to be over there mangling his technique even more.

While I agree with the premise that certain young players shouldn't be exposed to T20 cricket at the moment. Which is why i was also against suggestions for Lyon to be anywhere close to the T20 set-up current.

I don't think its much of an issue for M Marsh to be frank, since his ability is more obvious. A few weeks in the T20 i don't think shouldn't do him much harm IMO.

This first-class season is unusually long already, so i'd think he would have enough time to come back into first-class cricket and settle himself.

Little bit of an aggravating scorecard for NSW. I was hoping Henriques and O'Keefe would only be called upon for a quick fire blast when I checked in at 2/105. Good to see them both in the runs though.

Nevill and Henry did all the hard work at the top, so not much excuse for the 2 runs between Maddinson, Smith and Haddin. The latter especially might start feeling the heat since it's unlikely Nevill will be rotated out as often after our great batsmen cull of 11/12.
