Sehwags Brutal Innings Gets India Off To Perfect Start - India 1/46

Virender Sehwag appeared to adapt perfectly to the Twenty20 form of the game with a crushing 32 runs from only 8 balls as India raced to be 1/46. Unfortunatly for both the tourists and the fans around the world, Sehwag could not go on with the job, eventually caught by Andrew Symonds at mid wicket attempting to chip the ball to square leg.

Nathan Bracken was the bowler who picked up the master blaster, with a leg stump yorker. Sachin Tendulkar now enters the packed GABBA ground as the Indians look to continue to score at 7 per over.

32 off 18! That's some innings!!

I think it was actually 32 off 8...making it an incredible four a ball!
Top notch presentation MWaugh, and the match is poised very well, thanks to a flying start from India, led by Sehwag.

India Off To Solid Start - India 1/50 (5.0)

India blazed their way to a strong position to be 1/50 from only 5 overs thanks largely to a smashing 32 from Virender Shewag. The tourists are currently sitting comfortably in the run chase but in Twenty20 internationals players must be on the top of their game at all times.

The new ball pairing of Shaun Tait (0/27) and Nathan Bracken (1/23) have so far struggled to get on top of the dynamic top order of India.

Tait Claims Gambhir - India 2/62

Shaun Tait claimed his first scalp of his Twenty20 career with the wicket of Gautam Gambhir as India slipped to 2/62. The left handed opener eventually holed out to mid on after mis-timing a lofted on drive that was easily taken by Phil Jaques.

Gambhir eventually falling for a confident 21 from 24 balls to lead his team to a good start.

Task Is Clear - India 2/75 (10.0)

The old firming of Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid have appeared to have struggled in adjusting to the Twenty20 style of play as India began to stumble to be 2/75 at the half way mark.

The 2nd change pairing of Dan Cullen with 0/3 (1.0) and Stuart Clark 0/5 (1.0) have put Australia in a far stronger position to win this slog contest.

India now require exactly 100 runs from 10 overs at 10 runs per over to win this exibition match.

Master Blaster Gone - India 3/86

Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar was the next batsman to depart as India fell slightly further under pressure with the score at 3/86. Tendulkar did not appear at his usual comfortable ease with an inconsistant 25 from 26 balls. There were promising signs for the number 3 however, as he peeled off 2 towering sixes.

Tendulkar has looked out of sorts during this tour, with a test series average of only 8.16 from 6 attempts.

Stuart Clark made the breakthrough, as Michael Hussey took the catch at cover as Tendulkar looked to play off the back foot over the top of cover.

Dravid Struggles - India 4/110

Rahul Dravid appeared to severly struggle to adapt to the short form of the one day game with a dissapointing 10 from a lengthy 17 balls to put India in a difficult position at 4/110. Dravid appeared stuck some what in test mode with an innings not suited to Twenty20 cricket. The captain eventually caught in the deep by Phil Jaques attempting to blaze Stuart Clark over the top for six.

Singh Doesnt Stay Long - India 5/110

Yuvraj Singh did little to impress tour selectors with a golden duck after holing out to Stuart Clark on his first ball to leave the New South Wales paceman on a hat trick and India on 5/110.

Singh looked to up the run rate with a blazing shot over mid on that fell comfortably into the hands of Shaun Tait right on the GABBA fence. However Clark (3/26) will have to wait until next over to see if he can claim his hat trick.
