Dhoni Doesnt Last Long - India 6/117

Blasting wicketkeeper Mahendra Dhoni didnt last long in his first Twenty20 innings after being dismissed for a third ball innings of 6 as India slipped slightly at 6/117. The Indian tail is now exposed after Dhoni holed out to deep cover off the bowling of new Australian spinner Dan Cullen.

54 Required From 4 Overs - India 6/121

India have the daunting task of scoring 54 runs from 24 balls to win the Twenty20 match against Australia in Brisbane. Sourav Ganguly (20* from 10 balls) will be the key for the tourists against the likely bowling duo of Andrew Symonds and either Michael Clarke or Michael Hussey.

Ponting Gambles On Hussey - India 6/135 (17.0)

Ricky Ponting put his faith in the unlikely figure of Michael Hussey as the game came closer to a thrilling climax with India plugging away to 6/135 from 17 overs. With only 3 overs remaining and 40 runs required to win (at a run rate of 13.33 per over), Andrew Symonds (0/14 off 1) and Hussey have been trusted to finish out the match.

(Michael Hussey stands at the top of his mark after receiving the ball from the captain)

Gamble Pays Off - India 7/141

Michael Hussey rewarded Ricky Pontings bold gamble with the crucial wicket of Sourav Ganguly as India slipped onto the ropes at 7/141. Ganguly lofted the part time medium pacer over cover but was caught just short of the ropes by Phil Jaques to be dismissed for 34 from 18 balls.

I think the game's pretty much over now,it was mainly the inexperience by the Indian batsman to adapt to this form of the game that cost them the match.

Kumble Caught On The Deep - India 8/148

Anil Kumble was caught at Deep mid off by Nathan Bracken only meters inside the fence off the bowling of Michael Hussey as India left their tail exposed with the score at 8/148. Kumble attempted to keep the run rate soaring close to the 13.33 needed for victory, but was unfortunatly only meters short of the mark. Hussey furthering his claims for a regular bowling place in the team with his 2nd wicket.

i think thats a very fair call mate. possibly not being able to pace themselves and losing wickets to soon and not building enough of a partnership

Hussey Picks Up 3 In An Over! - India 9/148

Michael Hussey completed a dream over with the wicket of Zaheer Khan for a golden duck to leave India only 1 wicket away from a Twenty20 international defeat in Brisbane. Khan was caught in exactly the same position as Anil Kumble was the ball before.

Big Task Ahead - India 9/148 (18.0)

Harbhajan Singh and Ajit Agarkar face a huge task to win the Twenty20 clash for India at the Gabba. The pair require 27 runs from only 12 balls and cannot afford to lose a wicket against the bowling of Andrew Symonds (19th over) and Michael Hussey (20th over).

Symonds Finishes The Innings - India 10/162

Andrew Symonds claimed the wicket of number 11 batsman Ajit Agarkar to hand Australia a 12 run Twenty20 victory over India at the GABBA in Brisbane. Agarkar eventually caught on the cover ropes from a superb catch by Phil Jaques (who picked up 4 catches in the match) on the cover boundary, the New South Welshman diving to his right in the deep.

Scorecard And Graphs

Virender Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly appeared to adapt to the twenty over game well however the team looked to struggle to keep their wicket with Stuart Clark and Michael Hussey the pick of the bowlers.

(Late wickets unfortunatly ruined Indias strong claims of a first up victory)

(India started and finished strongly, however Dan Cullin and Stuart Clark tied the middle order down between the 8 and 12 over mark)
