Story Australia's Commonwealth Bank Series - vs @ Perth: Ind: 119/5

No Monty

Also Plunkett is a bit of a gamble. Hopefully Harmison won't bowl like he did in real life.

Good luck with this story though mate. Nice pres as well btw

Australia vs England

2006/07 Ashes Series
England trouble openers early

It has been 2 overs into the 2006/07 Ashes 3 Mobile Series, and already, the Australian's are having trouble adapting to the Fast England bowling. Stephen Harmison and Matthew Hoggard have taken the ball, and delivering to the 2 Best opening batsmen in Test Cricket, Justin Langer and Matthew Hayden.

Harmison and Hoggard take the new ball.

It has been a good start from the bowlers. Stephen Harmison opened the bowling, and on his 1st over, began with a maiden, keeping Langer guessing. You could tell it was going to be a hard day for the Aussies, when Harmison ran in, and with his 1st ball, pulled it back, and produced a bouncer that nearly clipped Langer's helmet.
Harmison gave Langer a long and hard stare, but with Langer's experience, didn't flinch and stepped back. Some tention between the player's, but it's apart of the great game we play.

Matthew Hoggard bowler from the other end, with Matthew Hayden on strike. Hayden had been in good form, and the experienced batsmen needs to get off to a good start for Australia to start well. Hoggard troubled Hayden early, with a bouncer 2nd ball, and he pitched balls around everywhere.
A mighty scare for Hayden and Australia, when Hoggard pitched a ball tossed right at the feet of Hayden. The ball had little bounce on it, but it caught Hayden in front of the stumps. Hoggard and the England fieldsmen thought their might of been a chance for a LBW decision, but the umpire, didn't show any sign of calling him out.

It looked mighty close, what do you think? A scare early for Australia, but Hayden survives, just 2 overs into the match.

Australia settle

Well with England starting off well in the Innings, Australia have started to settle with Langer and Hayden becoming used to the Bowling conditions and the pitch. It was hard going for the Aussies in the first 3 overs, but have gotten their act together and have started off pretty well now.

Justin Langer starting to get comfortable

The first few overs for the Poms were sensational. 2 Maidens from Hoggard and Harmison had the Aussies starting to worry. And at the end of the 2nd over, Hoggard trapped Hayden and was un-lucky to get a wicket.
But since that moment, Australia started to smarten up and started playing like they only know how. Langer was playing well against Hoggard, but was finding it hard against Harmison.

Hoggard was being targeted by the Aussies, both Langer and Hayden knew his weaknesses and started to play them. Hoggard tried to throw it back on Australia, trying to change his run up and his bowling delieveries, but the Australian batsmen knew what he was trying to do, and started to fraustrate Hoggard even more.

Langer showed his experience, and started to pick up some runs against the England bowlers. Harmison was bowling well, but Hoggard started off pretty poorly since his Maiden over, in the 1st over he bowled. Hoggard was pitching the ball too short and too straight. The Australian batsmen picked this up and started to knock around Hoggard to the boundaries.

Langer: 12*(10)
Hayden: 6*(14)

Stephen Harmison: 0/2 (3 Overs)

Harmison is bowling well but Hoggard has been expensive. Nice agressive start by Australia.

Nice presentation mate. Keep up the Good Work

Ashes 1st Test going along nicely

The 1st Test Match is going along nicely, with the Australian's batting 1st. It has been an entertaining start to the match. Matthew Hayden and Justin Langer opening the batting for the Aussies, with Matthew Hoggard and Stephen Harmison bowling to them. Harmison has been pumped out of the bowling attack, and in comes Liam Plunkett. The right arm medium pace Plunkett has come into the attack to try something new againsat Hayden and Langer, and see if he can get something from them. A wicket would be the best result, but to upset the batsmen might be good enough, for England at this stage of the match.

With just his 2nd ball of his bowling Innings, Plunkett gave Australian fans a scare, when Matthew Hayden played a shot and completely missed it. Hayden being his normal "big hitting" self, walked down the pitch towards Plunkett. Hayden was lucky and completely missed the ball. He could of put the ball away to the boundary, but miss timing and foot work, let the opener down, where he nearly was walking back to the pavillion. Just a little bit too much swing from Plunkett, aloud the ball to miss the stumps by cm's.
Hayden lucky to survive, But Plunkett seeming dangerous.

Plunkett had his chance to get Hayden

Just a few overs from when Plunkett troubled Hayden, when Hayden walked down the pitch towards Plunkett, Plunkett scared the Australian's again. A bowler not known around Australia, has come out and put scares into the Country. The 1st scare was the near miss to Hayden just with his 2nd ball of his 1st over. The 2nd scare has been the wicket of Justin Langer.
Plunkett ran in. Langer on strike. Langer was unaware that Plunkett was going to full toss this ball. Langer miss timed the ball, and it shattered the stumps behind him. Langer went for the drive, but like i said, it completely missed the bat, and with the cracks atrting to open up on the pitch, the ball hit the right crack and went in the right direction. What wasnt the right direction, is walking back to the pavillion for Justin Langer. The Veteran Batsmen, wiuould be kicking himself for trying to play the shot, when he could of blocked the ball.

Justin Langer goes for 16

With Langer gone, and Plunkett on a role. It was time for Australia to stand up. They were 25/1 st this stage of the match. Only 8 overs into the match. Now came in Captain Ricky Ponting. He needed to do something for Australia, and he needed to do something pretty quickly. His partner Hayden was playing alright, but good be doing more. And now with Langer back in the change rooms, it was the right time for the Captain to stand up.

And stand up he did. It didn't take very long for Ricky Ponting to get on the scoreboard. And when he did, he did it in style, flicking the ball off hjis feet, and driving the ball for a 4. Ponting seemed to adapt to the conditions and pitch quickly. His Power and Perceision will be a factor in this Innings. And with all the hype of the Ashes Series starting, Ponting needs to put on a show if Australia are going to win. With 1 down, Hopefully Australia can get back on track and start playing some good cricket, like they are known to do.

Matthew Hayden has kept the run rate going very nicely. With the wicket of Langer, Hayden has kept going, and is starting to play some good shots now. Seems more comfortable and relaxed out in the middle with his Captain. But Australia still has the wicket down. They need this partnership to go a long way.

England need to take wickets, because if Australia starts a partnership, it's would be hard to break it

Australia are already with a good start although they have lost their 1st wicket but so signs of trouble for them till now. England need to take wickets quickly and with no Monty in the side, England will find some difficulties in getting those Aussie wickets. Nice photoshop skills and nice presentation as well:) KUTGW :)

Partnership Killing the Poms

Australia have dominated the start of the 1st Test in the Ashes Series. With only 1 wicket being taken by the Poms. Ricky Ponting and Matthew Hayden have dominated the England bowling attack since the wicket, and now the England side need a wicket, to try and keep the game available to win. Ricky Ponting has put another spark into the Australian side, when coming onto the ground. Both Hayden and Langer (who was the wicket) we're playing badly, but when Ponting ran onto the field, it was a whole new Australian side. Hayden seemed to come back to his dominate ways. And Ponting continued his brillaint form.

Ponting was dominating the England attack. Exspecially Liam Plunkett who couldn't find the break through against the Australian Champ. Ponting didn't take long to get the scores running. 4's everywhere for the Australian number 3 batsmen, and things were back on track for Australia.
Not only was Ponting in good form, and ripping it up on the track. His partner up the other end, founded a new gear and was starting to play like the Hayden we all know and love. Powerful hits to the boundary, and commanding the bowler's to bowl and his strengths. Things starting to look good for Australia.

Ricky Ponting and Hayden's Partnership Killing England

Ponting and Hayden continued their dominance going through to the 15th over. Nearing lunch, and Australia are looking in command and on top. With just 1 wicket down, the Poms need to find another wicket quickly, before things get a little bit too much for them to chase. And with the way Hayden and Ponting are going at the moment, it isn't looking good for England.

Ponting and Hayden dominating the Bowlers
haydenwp0.jpg

With the dominance of Hayden and Ponting. Hoggard was the target of both the batsmen and was getting hammered around by both men. Michael Vaughan decided to bring back Stephen Harmison into the attack to see if his speed and accuracy can bring back Australia a little, and try and find the all important breakthrough. The right arm fast, is coming into the attack when Australia are 79/1.

Stephen Harmison bought back into the attack

harmisonwx8.jpg

Ricky Ponting and Matthew Hayden have bought back the England side a massive peg since they took their 1st wicket. Matthew Hayden is sitting on 33 and Captain Ricky Ponting has made 35. Their partnership is 64.
Australia are 89/1 and if this Partnership continues, thing may be looking gone for England for the 1st Test Match. England need a wicket, and they need it quickly, before it becomes goodnight for them.
