Story Australia's Commonwealth Bank Series - vs @ Perth: Ind: 119/5

Australia get another.

Andrew Flintoff was at the crease and was playing some beautiful cricket. His team had dissapointed him thus far, so it has been his job to try and get them back into the match and try and post a reasonable score. They will have to follow on against the Australian's. But with Flintoff, they might just make it a bit easier out in the middle.
Flintoff was playing some good cricket. Some good shots, he was timing the ball through the air with percision. The Shot viration from Flintoff was 1st class and he was starting to get settled and finding it more and more easier to knock around the ball, and to pick off the gaps between the fielders around the field. He was getting the ball through the fielders with Stuart Clark and Brett Lee bowling to him. It might be a time for a change in the bowling attack for Ricky Ponting. Flintoff was starting to get on top and getting settled in.

With Flintoff playing some good shots, and getting settled in at the crease, his parnter up the other end, Andrew Strauss started to loose his cool. England were 35/5 at this stage of the match, and loosing another wicket at this time would nearly put them to death, with only bowlers being the next batch of batsmen left. Stuart Clark was bowling exceptional. Already taking Marcus Treschotick and Ian Bell, Stuart Clark now has Andrew Strauss to his name. Clark bowled a brilliant ball to Strauss, who widely took a swing at the ball at he got a thick edge on the ball. Again Adam Gilchrist was forced wide to his left side this time to take another brilliant catch. A one handed diving catch from Gilchrist, his 2nd brilliant catch of the Innings, and his 4th catch of the whole afternoon. England now in big trouble, with 35/6 the score and with Clark with 3 wickets, and Brett Lee with 2 wickets, its all going the way for Australia.

What a catch by Gilly, Strauss gone

Stuart Clark and Brett Lee have bowled brilliantly for Australia. Getting 5 wickets for the afternoon. Stuart Clark taking 3 wickets and Brett Lee taking 2. Ricky Ponting though it was time for a change in the bowling attack. Brining in Nathan Bracken who replaced Brett Lee. The left arm quick, will be looking to keep the quick bowling attack on the tail end of the England batting line-up. Stuart Clark after a great bowling spell, came to an end, and Ponting bought in some spin, bringing in Shane Warne, who should give some trouble to Flintoff and Jones with his spin and turn on the ball and on the pitch aswell.

Warne also into the attack with his spin

With now, Andrew Flintoff and Geriat Jones (the keeper) at the crease, if England loose another wicket quickly, you would think they would fall rather quickly with the tail end coming. And now with Shane Warne and Nathan Bracken, a combination of quick left hander, and some spin, it would be difficult for the England batsmen to reach 100.
But Geriat Jones had something to say about, quickly htting the ball to the boundary and bringing up his 1st boundary of the Innings. All things might not be lost for England, with Jones who can seriously hit the ball and find some runs rather quickly. And they still have Andrew Flintoff, the hard hitting machine at the crease, it might still not be all lost for the Poms. Time will tell what will happen now.

England are in a lot of trouble but hopefully Flintoff and Jones will get a good partnership going!

Australia drawing close

Australia are now getting close to bowling out the whole England squad. With only Andrew Flintoff the "Main batsmen" left in the attack, and with the bowling attack to come in for the Poms, it won't be long till the Australian's have bowled out the rest of the Squad. The only thing stopping the Australian's knocking over the Poms right now, is Andrew Flintoff is still at the crease. So Flintoff was making the most of the time being at the crease. He was enjoying all the attention being the only "batsmen" left in the line-up, and he was taking it to the Australian bowlers. Smashing boundaries left right and centre was the Vice-Captain of the England side.

Flintoff's Boundary

After the little dominace from Andrew Flintoff, Ricky Ponting decided to change the bowling around. Michael Clarke, who isn't known for his bowling, had come into the attack, along with Brett Lee who has come back into the attack which will get the England players thinking about his pace and speed alot more.
Michael Clarke who bowling to Flintoff, and you wouldn't think , a part time spinner (like Clarke) who pick the wicket of a great batsmen like Flintoff, but Clarke pitched the right ball to the batsmen and Flintoff snipped the ball. Gilchrist was up at the wicket for the spin of Clarke, and he chose the ball from Clarke which ended up in the hands of Gilchrist, so Flintoff was gone. He made 26.

Australia are now crusiing in this 1st Ashes Test at the Gabba, and now with Brett Lee back in the attack, Australia will be looking to take out this tail end as quickly as possible.

Brett Lee is fierce in the attack

England are in a shocking position now,Brett Lee should clean up the lower order.

Rubbish Batting by England, They need to bowl well now!!
KUTGW

That was the last resilient batsmen gone. Now England need to hang in there and when they get all out, bowl extremely well..

Ehh in the text you repeatedly say Clarke got Flintoff's wicket but the image says Warne got it. Just a little point. Apart from that nice work

Yeah i relised that when i posted. I only had a glance at the picture when writing up the report, and it looked like Clarke, so i imagined it was him, but turned out to be Warney :P

Poor batting by England. The tailenders need to provide some resistance and get a respactable total on the board. Nice presentation mate :)

Very poor batting by England.....Gilchrist is having a gr8 day behind the stumps....
Lee will finish the job of.....good presentation

Lee and Clark cleaning up the Poms

Brett Lee and Stuart Clark are cleaning up the England tail enders. Just like they we're doing to the England openers, they aren't letting them get settled, and getting them out as quickly as possble. With the speed of Lee and the Line and length of Clark, it's a great combination for the Poms to enjoy.
Stuart Clark has got his 4th wicket of the match, picking off Liam Plunkett. It has been a great Innings from Adam Gilchrist who with Plunkett's wicket took his 6th catch of the match this afternoon. It was a great Innings from Gilly behind the stumps, and there are still 3 wickets to be taken, so who knows what he'll end up with.

Plunkett goes

Plunkett goes for only 7

With the wicket taking place, at the end of the over, the umpire decided to call Tea, so at the Tea break on the 2nd day, Hoggard and Ashley Giles are now at the crease.

England are 101/8 at Tea on the 2nd Day

teabreaklf4.jpg

With the dismall of Liam Plunkett, Matthew Hoggard is now at the crease. He has a record of 7.41 per Innings. His best is only 38, so the Aussie bowlers should look to get him out quickly. Although, if Hoggard can get going, 38 runs will be very handy for the Poms at this stage, as they are desperate for runs.

Matthew Hoggard to the crease

hoggardtg0.jpg

But he didn't trouble the scorers at all in the end. Only playing one shot, which was a glance down to the 3rd man, as he was afraid to face the quickness of Brett Lee. Hoggard only madde the 1 run, before he was gone. Brett Lee was the bowler. And guess what, Adam Gilchrist took his 7th catch of the match, this must be some sort of record from Gilchrist with 7 catches in the one Innings. Defiently one of the best Innings i have seen by a keeper.

Gilchrist takes catch number 7

hoggardwicketmc1.jpg

Hoggard only manages 1 before being dismissed.

hoggardwicket2nr4.jpg

Now the opening bowler Stephen Harmison is at the crease for the Poms. Harmison and Spinner Ashley Giles are at the crease. And with Brett Lee and Stuart Clark taking care of the England tail enders, the Aussies only need the one wicket to bowl out the Poms, and see if Ponting forces the follow on, or should he bat for a while and make it impossible for the English to come back.
