Peter Siddle out for the season with back injury | Cricket News | Australia v West Indies 2009/10 | Cricinfo.com
"Peter experienced back pain during the Commonwealth Bank Series," Australia's physiotherapist Alex Kountouris said. "The source of the pain was investigated after the fifth ODI and unfortunately scans revealed that he has a lower back stress fracture. The nature of this injury means that Peter will require a long rehabilitation period and as such he'll be unavailable for the remainder of the domestic summer and the tour of New Zealand."

Back injury forces Brett Geeves out for season | Australia Cricket News | Cricinfo.com
"Brett has obviously been leading our attack and has had a good season so far not only with the ball but with the bat as well," the Tasmania coach Tim Coyle said. "His spot in the team will be a tough one to fill so we will need to work hard to plug the gap. Brett will rest for six weeks before undertaking some basic core strength activity followed by intensive rehabilitation."

So back injuries troubling Australia badly.

That's unlucky, he might have been a chance of playing a game for Australia this summer.

I don't see how Tassie will recover! Did any of their bowlers go to the U-19 World Cup?

No, only the keeper Triffitt went. We reallyy need Adam Griffith to be fit again, he used to be good. But now we might even have to play Doherty all the time.

You could go with two spinners, plus Butterworth, Drew and Denton. Plus you've got Timmy and Faulkner to back them up.

We do really lack that quality paceman though now that Hilfy's gone International. We need a youngster as well, maybe we could con somebody like Troy Copeland to come down here.

Speaking of Australia, back injuries and being ruled out of a summer, in bigger news Siddle has a stress fracture and is out for a year. Poor guy.

And what about that Adam Maher that played against Pakistan and took four or whatever? Went alright, how old is he?

These injuries are a real pain in the back for Australia.

I'll leave now.

"pain in the back" is not a phrase that is ever used, so the 'joke' is completely unrealistic. There is "pain in the neck" and "pain in the arrse", but that's it. I think you were just trying to be too cute with this post, and it didn't work.
