Bangladesh Tour of New Zealand 2010

Its just so ludicrous, Bd playin only 1 test against newzeland..however hope bd put up a good show against the kiwis. I'm personally lookin forward to this series:)

sameer_st added 4 Minutes and 57 Seconds later...

This tour may seem pointless but i'm sure bdesh will give NZ a run for their money!

True that mate:D

We must play three seamers in NZ and I think Mashrafe, Shahadat and Mahbubul are the best options.

Speakin from statistic point of view bd seamers were not any gud till the recent times against the kiwis... Well keepin aside mashrafe, i say you have choosen the two most erratic bowlers. yes they both are too inconsistent. shahadat has lost all his rythm and i doubt if he's gonna get the vibe any soon. Not to mention he grunts like a git and bowls like a chicken at 120-125 kmh with all "Hit me" bowl is simply pathetic to watch, to say the least.!:facepalm..there's not much to say about mahbubul alam cuz we all saw how badly he was treated by the mediocre zim batsmen last series as he barely create any varitaon..For now my pace combination would be Mshrafe n Nazmul and frankly i dont see any other better option:)

ahem so i guess i made my point Khalek? :p ^^ thank you for clearing that up

i am not saying we have a good seaming line up, b/c we dont, but those 2 are the worst!

if we do play 3 seamers then its gotta be this 3. Mashrafe, Rubel, Nazmul.

Offer still stands, money to be made for MacLovin

Yes Nazmul is a good option but I don't see how you can say that Mahbubul is a bad bowler. Fair enough he got hammered by the Zimmies but that was ODI cricket where variation is required but in test matches if he gets some swing he can be dangerous. I bet you haven't seen him clean Graeme Smith up few months back.

As far as Shahadat is concerned, his experience is something we can't ignore. I know he has lost his rhythm and his pace is way down atm but he has a habit of picking up wickets in test matches with those short pitched deliveries.

AND ROFL AT RUBEL AND RASEL PLAYING TEST MATCHES... :rtfl:rtfl

you cant really talk about 1 single wicket and prove he is a good bowler.

and never said Rasel to play test. thats a ODI line up, i would add that Sharpova for test.

Even Rubel, he's below average for test cricket and I doubt if he would even remain in our ODI team unless he stops going at 7-8 runs per over.

To me it just seem absurd, as your making assumption from only one wicket. Seldom i have seen any good bowling from Mahbubul neither his statistic say he plays well in the test.. I reckon this young lad needs more time to Improve his bowling, accuracy and generate more speed to be up for test.:)

No matter what we say about Shahadat, BCB selectors re always convinced with his bowling and its apparent that he ll play the next test..:doh

Playing Rubel as a third seamer on a fast bouncy pitch would be a good move. He is a aggressive bowler, pacy n has got the ability to swing the bowl both ways.

Then how on earth does he average 50ish in FC cricket? Is our domestic circuit full of batsmen like Lara and Ponting?

To be honest if I was Bangladesh I would consider playing two spinners anyway. Our batsman are not the greatest players of spin and the pitches are fairly flat these days. Also the Bangladesh pacemen will probably not trouble our batsman to much at home unless they are swinging it around corners.

Shakib, Riyad, 2 spinner. there is no other specialist spinner for test. i miss Rafique badly.

Tamim
Imrul
Siddiqe
Rokib
Ash
Moyna
Riyad
Mushfiq
Mash
Shahdat
Rubel

unless they drop Sharpova or Rubel and take 1 more batsman

deal..

Why do we have to remind the ICC about the rules and traditions all the time? :sarcasm

lol you went and opened a "Rubel Hossain overrated?" thread in BC! what you have against him? he is fairly new
