Battle of the Strikers (NOT CONTINUED)

I know I'm not actually part of this story but I do read it! And I actually really enjoy reading it, it is very interesting.

Perhaps Holdenator you could switch in for Shantanu, considering he hasn't posted once after signing up.

You interested?
You will have to write up new stats for yourself, but the points and goals that Shantanu has already scored will go on to your account.

Of course we can just keep playing if you don't want to.. no biggie. ;)

I would love to take his place! I would be happy to write up some new stats for you, but the thing is would you be able to just add me in where shantanu is? Wouldn't you have to start all over again with my player on the save?

i think that you can just edit the player using the editor. i haven't tried editing the players while i've been playing FM09 so i'm not too sure.

Holden - I could just replace you with Shantanu, but now that I've reconsidered, I think that it would be only fair if I made a new save to let you play your matches. You are now in the competition for Shantanu, and a new player profile will be created for you.

Now - on to another topic.
Would anyone be opposed to the idea of no more match reports?

Match reports really slow me down and they are quite tedious to write. Would it be alright if I just showed everything else instead?

I take it you got my stats then blake? I hope they were all okay :)

Glad to now be a part of this! I wouldn't really mind without match reports? Maybe like a line? but overall it's up to you :)

Your stats are fine. You've been accepted.

Tonight now, instead of doing a round with everyone, I will be posting all friendlies and league rounds up to where we are now with just Holden's striker, so then next round we have everyone up to a level playing field.

So, let's make this official.

Shantanu Rooney.

You have been voted off the island.

lol Blake. I didn't know we were on an island. I wouldn't mind it without match reports. It would make it a lot quicker.

There's a few problems with Ollie's application which he needs to fix up (have sent a PM) and then once he finishes fixing that up, we will resume play.

Sorry about the long break.

SHANTANU AMBEKAR KILLED IN AMBULANCE CRASH

In perhaps the most ironic accident of the year, potential star Shantanu Ambekar was killed after his ambulance crashed on the way to hospital. Hucknall fans were shocked after the news was revealed that their star striker was dead. Ambekar supposedly had the potential to make it to the Premier League and he will be sorely missed by his club. Manager Blake spoke out to a dreary-eyed media.

"Look, he wasn't posting, and that's not my fault. To be honest, we don't care. If he's not posting, what good is he."

The media were shocked by Blake's harsh words, with a gasp of surprise erupting around the room.

"Surely, Blake, now that your star striker is dead, you must surely have some remorse?"

"Not at all mate. He wasn't posting. We need someone new, what good is he now. He was like bloody deadwood."

To which the media were again shocked.

"Excuse me, sir, you mentioned the word 'posting' - what did you mean by 'posting'?"

"You know, posting on PlanetCricket... come on, surely one of you has been to Plan-.. no? Far out you guys, what on earth is wrong with you all? Can't you accept that this is a waste of time if he's not pos-"

At this point, the chairman of Hucknall came on to the stage and dragged Blake off abruptly. Blake managed to make one last statement "We've got a new striker Hucknall, don't worry. He's supposed to be better than that dead Ambekar perso-.."

The media filed out, assuming what they had seen was a man going loony. He showed simply no remorse to the death of star striker Shantanu Ambekar. And what was that he mentioned about a new striker?... It would all be revealed later..

"OUR NEW STRIKER IS OLLIE HOLDE-" yelled out Blake from behind the stage before being tackled to the ground by the chairman.

The media, now satisfied with all the news they had gotten, quickly stopped caring about Shantanu Ambekar (dec.) and moved out of the room to inform their local newspapers.

Haha a nice way to end Shantanu! The manager shows no remorse!

BLAKE REVEALS SHANTANU WAS DEAD BEFORE AMBULANCE CRASHED

In a shocking turn of events, manager of Hucknall Town F.C., Blake, has claimed that their ex-star striker Shantanu Ambekar was dead before the ambulance crashed. When queried how he knew this, he simply replied to the media.

"I killed him. What's wrong with tha-.." at which stage a policeman handcuffed him and led him into a police van.

How exciting.
