BCCI making the Indian Players Slog

Where did I or Dhoni or any Indian player say that IPL is responsible for the fatigue .
:)

All Indian players who have a contract with BCCI are put up for auction by default(is that the right word ? English is not my first language :(). They cannot do anything about it unless and untill they are injured. So they cannot just get up and walk away for a well deserved rest.

It was posters on here as well as the odd pundit, I had initially been responding to that thought process. India's players have never ever blamed it, hence why I think it's not fair for some of their fans to have done so :)

In fact this was the OP

I think the players are being made to work like donkeys and therefore players like Zaheer Khan get injuired so quickly.Just 6 Days after the World Cup 2011, Ipl 2011 then in 3 days they go to West Indies and after the end of that in 5 Days to England.

Case closed, I guess .

I love the fact that Zaheer was actually injured for the exact opposite to what is implied.

What do you all think?
Of all, only Suresh Raina has been a part of each and every tournament- Fine.
And wait, after England tour, he has been a part of Champions League T20 and he will be part of Englands tour of India as well.

IPL is a joke and Indian players have to blame themselves rather thier board since they are the one who for making money play in all these leagues. I mean it was so bad to have an IPL straight after a worldcup and it will and it is costing india. I am more then happy that due to some other reasons Pakistani players are out of this ???? otherwise they will have same problems of fitness what the indians are facing.
Dude, you cannot just rule out IPL always with a term joke always. May be, some times it may be a joke, but definitely, not always. Remember, IPL has changed the complete fate of Team India. Now, if we need a replacement, we can easily have four to five players competing for a single position.

Its not easy to reject playing the IPL if you're an Indian cricketer. You risk your career playing for India (if you reject the IPL, the BCCI will find ways to curtail your international career as in India, so many players want to get into the national team and so replacements are always there). Its the case even for players like Sachin and Dhoni (only Sachin can have the right to say I dont want to play IPL and yet continue being picked for the national side). Its the BCCI who arm twist the players to play the IPL. And the schedule is gruesome for the players. England might have been the better team, but the reason why India havent given a fight so far (or given up too easily) is because their body and minds are completely fatigued.

No domestic player in India declines the IPL offer because it is the only time where they can expose themselves to a pseudo-international level. IPL might be a domestic event, but its an international level domestic event, which will bring a player into lime light just in a single night. If you are a batsman, you can face strong bowlers in this world like Malinga, Brett Lee, Steyn etc and if you are a bowler, you can bowl to world class batsmen like Sachin Tendulkar, Michael Hussey, Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard etc, and not just that, you can get coaching from international level coaches.

So, who on earth would just leave such opportunity?

Well, I agree, this year, we had too much of work load- BCCI should have reduced this years IPL to a one month event, so that everything would have been set right.

I am sorry, but IPL is just not an excuse. Indian players play alot of cricket, but they know their bodies best of all, and they should know their priorities. If it starts effecting your international career, you do need to sort yourself out.
I wont blame BCCI entirely although schedule is pretty much tight, but just look at the physique of our players, BCCI cant go around telling them to keep themselves fit. Its their job to keep themselves fit when they are rested.

I absolutely agree with you both here.

IPL is:
1) Must to uncapped Indians.
2) We are the replacements- lets play it for improving ourselves and grab the eye of selector to National team replacements.
3) Ok- if you are fit enough, play, else, lite to Indian main players.
4) Time pass- lets earn bucks and share something with Indian newbies to overseas players.

Ipl should be quit:p
Read what I wrote earlier, and try repeating the same:facepalm:rolleyes!

It's made an even bigger problem for India because of the fact their initial fitness levels are so poor, and most of the players are overweight. I'm sure teams like Australia and England would also struggle with India's kind of schedule but not to the same degree.
