Haha Great thread:cheers

Stats would tell you dizzy (Gillespie) probably :)

Anderson is great for England apart from that I dont really know...

^^^ I partially agree with Chunku. The man's got a Double hundred vs Bangladesh.

Bhajji & now Mishra are two Indian players who come to mind.

For Australia, maybe Mitch. For other teams, I don't know.

^ Strange that Ajit Agarkar, despite getting a 100 at Lords, doesn't figure on the list while even Andy Bichel does. Good work with the stats though. :)

Gillespie was ideal night watchman because he had very good defense and of course that 200 as well.

Matthew Hoggard was not a bad one also. Probably he did not had the shots Dizzy had in his repertoire so he looked slow compared to him.

scion_sid added 0 Minutes and 57 Seconds later...

For India Kumble did decent job in his young days but became better batsman in his older days.

Mathew Hoggard and James Anderson are always pretty decent for England.

Mark Boucher was a night watchman early on in his career and scored 2 centuries as a night watchman

Since Gillespie is one of my favorite players of all time i'll be biased and say him haha.

Gillespie was used as NW almost from debut, he had a great defence and added more strokes as the years went by. Even his first test he looked great in 96.

Fidel Edwards could make a good nightwatchman. He saved a few tests for the West Indies in recent years and actually has solid defence. Too bad he is injured allot.
