Ganguly in his prime is an awesome sight to watch, either coming down to track to spinners or pace, i remember his knock against SA in the ICC knock out semis', where he hit a perfect yorker from Kallis for a six.

Lance Klusener " Zulu" with the kind of form he showed in the 1999 world cup(Man of the tournament) is surely a strong contender in this situation.
KLUSENER AT THE WORLD CUP 1999
v India 12* (4 balls)
v Sri Lanka 52* (45 balls)
v England 48* (40 balls)
v Kenya Did not bat
v Zimbabwe 52* (58 balls)
v Pakistan 46* (41 balls)
v New Zealand 4 (5 balls)
v Australia 36 (21 balls)
v Australia 31* (16 balls)
281 runs at 140.5 (ave.)

Lance Klusener's unbeaten 31 off 16 balls against Australia in the semifinal nearly gave South Africa a berth in the final had it not been for that last wicket tragedy.
BTW:
Sanath Jayasuriya holds the record of highest runs in One over: 30 runs. He has achieved this remarkable feat twice.
But opening the batting with field restrictions and slog overs are totally different so my choice would be Lance Klusener.

How could it have been the perfect yorker if it went for six? ;)

A perfect yorker would be defined as either a dot ball or a wicket, not a six ;)

The shot Dhoni played in the England series where he squeazed a yorker over mid on for six was some shot.

Currently Dhoni rules mate.

in the sixers list,
did Kemp joined the list for most number of sixes last year...
i m not sure of this... i remeber watching the stats during SA tour of India in ODIS(2-2 draw)!!!!

The ball was a perfect yorker aimed at the stumps but Ganguly shuffled across to dig it out for six.

He played a similar shot against New Zealand in the 3rd ODI where he hit a 100. This shot sailed for a six over fine leg and it was the last ball of the innings.

It was in this ODI

Remember the 2002 Standard Bank ODI Series in South Africa ?
Ganguly had a sixer in almost every match he played.

I have no doubt in that.

But I'm saying that surely the 'perfect Yorker' from the bowlers POV wouldn't go for six ;)

Oh and Ali Brown>*

Any one remembers Rahul Dravid's exploits against the Kiwis at Banglore.
This took place during the Tri-Series India-Australia and New Zealand.
Dravid scored 50 off just 21 balls.

I rember!!!! i think its against auusies??????

McCullum bashed 50* off 25 balls against Mick Lewis lol. That was the world record run chase for half a year before Lewis decided he needed to help a second team make an embarrising record against Australia. He is a pretty big hitter but just new on the scene. He bashed 62 runs off 22 balls in our Twenty/20 final when he opened the batting. Hes probably not up there with the Afridis, Cairns, Klusener, Gilchrists, Dhonis, etc, but he may get that trait in the future. He also got 51 off 22 balls. it was against Zimbabwe though so thats not much to brag about really.

Best hitter I'd have to say Jayasuriya. He hardly misses when he swings hard, plus he got great technique.
