Biggest hitters in the game.

As much as I dont like his style of play, Afridi is definitely one that can hit the balls outta the ground more often then anybody. He can definitely overshadow anyone in cricket today with the biggest sixes that you'll ever see. Flintoff, Pieterson, Symonds etc dont even come in the monstrous league of Afridi (The only one joining the club soon would be Dhoni I guess).

You just need to glance at that monstrous innings at Kanpur where he just destroyed the Indian bowlers, the recent Faisalabad test where he climbed into Hoggard etc etc etc. The true power of Afridi is definitely displayed.

I was at that game!He hit it very nicely. The thing that caught my eye in that game was Gayle's fielding. He is an Athlete.Absolutely brilliant field.

True that, has a great pair of mits. But why he does this underarm flick return from the boundary i'll never know... He was doing damage to his shoulder in that match by doing it, and half of the returns were landing mid pitch, or ten metres over the keepers head! Just needs to keep it simple!

Only one was a 40 over game, the other was 50 overs. Still impressive though!

When he's in full flow, your jaw drops. He's incredible.

You guys seem to be forgetting that boundary ropes in England are about 15-20m smaller than in Australia. So some of those "big sixes" might have been simple catches to the outfielders.

Afridi hit the biggest six i have ever seen in person (WACA 2005).

Ronchi hits many sixes, and huge ones too. Brilliant timer of the ball. He once hit a ball out of Bellerive over the training pitches. He scored a 31 ball century in this 3rd tier league in england with 12 sixes when he was 19. I know it's only crap cricket and the boundaries are smaller, but it shows his big hitting power.

Is that right? I'd like to see some figures on that.

Well I have seen Cairns smash a lot of sixes. He holds the test record for most sixes but unfortonatly will probably lose that record in a few years.

One six I will remember for a long time happened a year or so ago and McMillan almost hit the ball over the stand at the Cake Tin. It hit the very top tip. That was one of the meatest blows I have seen. He doesn't hit many though.

Gilchrist has hit some huge ones. When he is in form, he can smash them right out of the ground. Last year sometime he smashed a ball over the stand and down the road.

Symonds hit some real big ones in that match the other night, there was at least 12 sixes, can;t be bothered counting. The ground wasn't terribly big but Symonds and Cairns were hitting them rows and rows back. Would of been six anywhere.

That Lee six recently was huge also, again not really a consistant six hitter compared to the others.

Afridi though. I havn't seen a hell of a lot of him, but he hits some huge sixes.

You haven't seen Brown bat have you? :D

The Six Hitters

10 Sixes by Dhoni in past in a game,
Ricordo Powell (WI) hits 8 sixes in innings
Symonds (Aus) Last match 7 Sixes

and pietersen and Fredi are some of the biggest hitters in one day cricket.

Remember him breaking a window at Hove last year.

Bumble was in commentary which improved the experience.

What about Nathan Astle! (Sorry if hes been mentioned).

His 222 against England was phenomanal..

Hit hit a six onto the roof, which was a long way up

That may be so, but have you forgotten how many times Freddie and KP hit it into the crowd, don't remember the stand's being brought forward...

I was at that game. Cairns was at one end batting at 11 because he was injured. It was a last wicket stand and they were about 200-odd behind when they came together. We were all giving them some gip to start with but it turned into stunned respect as the balls kept whistling over our heads.

im sure hussey will be in that list soon, too. A six that hit the roof of the telstra dome! brilliant!

Hussey, unless he moves up, might not often get a chance to make the list. Australia only ever get to him in the last few overs.
