Yeah the graphics look dated now, but seems to play quite well

Not had a long session with it yet.

Also i like the option to turn CPU viewing on

Sometimes, i just laze in bed and can't be bothered to play myself, and just watch the CPU teams slogging it out in a world cup competition.

More realistic to have to option to watch the other matches as well (CPU v CPU)

Sadly, that option doesn't seem to be in later games

Why the hell does the normal version work and not sold-out?? What's the difference? It's the same sodding game, isn't it??

Last thing I'm gonna try is install game using old pc on win 98 and copy it across to new machine, download patch and then if it doesn't work, sod it. I'm not gonna waste a whole day faffing around trying to get an 8 year old game to work.

I'm going to spend it playing Silent Hunter 4 instead ;)

By the way, what's this 'sound thing' people keep mentioning to fix the problem with the game stopping after the coin toss?

If you had looked on the second page of this thread, you would have found this

I downloaded and tried to different windows xp patches neither of them worked for me.

Heres how i got it install, copy all the files off the cd to a place on your hard drive. The only file you wont be able to copy over is program/nets. So dont copy that one, when u have copied the remaining files, copy the program/nets2 folder and put it into program nets folder. then install. All should work fine.
I.e. copy over the nets2 folder twice and rename one of them to 'nets' as the nets folder from the CD won't copy

Not sure I am afraid

Have you kept the file structures the same as per the CD when copying it to your hard disk, and renamed the 2nd nets2 folder to nets etc?

Does it say which file it is looking for etc?

I think I might have made a breakthrough...

Do you know if there were any sound/graphics patches released for BLIC '99, along with fixes for teams, rosters, kits etc?

Can two gamepads be used with BLIC '99? I want to use my PS2 pads on the PC version.

There were dozens of grapical updates - kits stadiums, stumps etc etc
I think there was the odd sound one too, not sure

Don't know about the 2 joypads though as only ever played with one

Do you have any idea where I can find them?

Got it all working now, including two gamepads (you need a multi pad adaptor). Am loving it! BLIC 2007 needs to come up with one hell of a patch to avoid being sold!

Off the top of my head, whilst waiting for patches, if you have the player editor, alter all players hand rating to poor, and agility rating to excellent.

You get more great stops in the infield, and some dropped catches too

!!AT LAST: A REAL SOLUTION WHEN INSTALL FAILS AT 96%ish!!:
Much fiddling and I've done it at last!!
READ ALL OF THIS CAREFULLY!!

This is where the problem is:
D:/Program/Nets/practice

What you have to do is copy EVERYTHING into a file on your hard drive (OR to a new writable CD) and then run the installer from there.
You may have some problems because it cannot read the files mentioned above ... so you may have to do a few files at a time.

BECAUSE IT CANNOT READ THE ABOVE FILES, YOU CAN DO THIS:
Copy the files from /Program/Nets2/practice
into: /Program/Nets/practice

(COPY ALL FILES FROM 'Program/NETS2' TO 'Program/NETS')

Maybe the nets practice session will have problems (??) ... BUT THE INSTALLER DOES COMPLETE PERFECTLY...

Then all you have to do is download the right XP fix from here:
http://blc.sports-gaming.com/blcfiles.htm

(I used the 'Software' one)

AND THE GAME RUNS AT LAST!!!!!!!!
HURRAH!!
