I think it's tough being the other bowlers when you're playing alongside a guy putting up all time great numbers.
I accept that Bumrah can make others look bad. However, the truth is the rest are merely mediocre. I note your point regd Siraj in the other post, but you gotta look at whether he performs where required. So far, during the BGT, I havent seen a good spell from Siraj that can shake up the Aussies.
Rana and Reddy are new -hence you can give them a longer rope. Now, when you compare with Australia, Starc is world class. Even if he isnt bowling, the rest keep on coming at you. You take out Hazlewood, Boland creates troubles. Why cant the Indian bowlers do this?
The only time I ever saw them do so, was at the Gabba in the previous BGT- Natarajan, Shardul, Siraj all bowled well that time.
That's a bit extreme. I think the bowlers are doing okay compared to what our batsmen have been putting up for them to play with.
It's the batting that is the problem. It was in the NZ series too.
'OKAY' is the word. For a team that has been on the top for some years, 'OKAY' isnt really acceptable, is it? One could argue that poor captaincy cost us some games, especially when we had them 3/something and the batsmen go on to score tons. Apart from Bumrah, the others seem content with merely bowling. There doesnt seem to be any thought process behind the actual bowling. It is all mechanical. For the likes of Siraj and Jadeja, they ought to strategically bowl rather than simply running in.
The batting- well, that is a mega problem. We are already 1-down in the first innings. As predicted by many, the BGT will spell the end of a few careers for sure.
I also want to take this opportunity and speak about the home track bully- Jaiswal. While, he got a hundred at Perth, he seems out of sorts against quality bowling. He had an issue in South Africa as well. On home tracks, he is quite the bully.
