There was a time when I used to love the matches on Star- days of ESS, when ESPN-Star had combined channels, with a dedicated cricket line on Star Cricket. The quality was good, better commentators, good pre/mid-innings/post match analysis. Now, that's all gone down the drain.

I used to dislike Sanjay Manjrekar initially. Over the last few years, he has gotten himself into some trouble owing to controversial statements. The mor eyou think about them, you understand that Sanjay isnt all wrong. In fact, Sanjay's analysis of the game and batting strengths are better than those of Shastri and Gavaskar, both of whom tend to support the players they like.

E.g. Shastri is a well known fan of Kohli and that is apparent. With Gavaskar, it is always the Mumbai boys getting the upper hand when it comes to Indian cricket.
