Heart says rejoice but mind says it's not over yet. Tailenders have often troubled us, so that's what Australia will be banking on.

But any lead here would be as good as gold. Hope we can wrap them up under 100.

You are right. The lack of an experienced frontline third pacer might come to haunt us later in the series.

I'm surprised India played Rana. Akashdeep was bowling well especially against the lefties much like the major missing - Shami.

Seeing how Smith got out today, after getting out the exact same way in his Shield game and the fact that he previously asked to open the batting because he'd hoped it might unlock something in his game, this really does feel like his career is winding down to a close.

If Australia make it to the WTC final I could see him holding on for it, but if not then either this series or the Sri Lanka one ought to be his last.

Would you prescribe similar to Kohli?

Probably lack the analytical insights here, but Kohli does seem to be on his last legs. One thing I noticed with him in recent days, he is getting out to a combo mediocre deliveries + poor shot selection.

I wouldn't be surprised if he were asked to hang up his boots post the BGT-perhaps on the lines of Dravid, VVS. Knowing Kohli though he will want that final hurrah.

However,if the likes of Gill,Jaiswal, Jurel and Sarfaraz do well in this series, the writing perhaps will be clearer than ever before.
