Border-Gavaskar Trophy (India in Australia) Dec-Jan 2011/12

Lets play Ashwin at no 6 and keep 4 fast bowlers in the final 11?

Because he has now outscored Gambhir, Sehwag, Dravid, Laxman, Dhoni and Kohli in this series.

Maybe. Not a bad idea. Play Mithun in place of Virat Kohli and have Ashwin ahead of MS Dhoni

I love how people applaud him in the end of the video. We should do the same for our "Neutral Buddy".

What'll be the use then. Playing with wither Kohli/Mithun is same as playing with a 10 men spot. Moreover Mithun can't field for his life. Lets give Rohit a chance and hope that Indian top order start to bat sensibly. Ashwin has shown that technique is not everything. IF you have the right mindset you can still score the runs.

finally we managed 400 in a overseas test. Something to take home with this rather depressing test.

Oh come on, he has better technique than Sehwag and Dhoni.

P.S. 400. Party time.

----------

Whan an end to the test match. :p

Another series and another missed opportunity to win a series Down Under. Disappointing.

And duly gets out!!! Ashwin is showing a weakness for the short ball. Soon to be exploited by worldwide fast bowlers. Ganguly keeps repeating that weakness in the commentary box (ironic that the master of the "short ball weakness" talks about someone else having the same problem) and soon coaches around the world will pick on that.

Well played Australia! And well tried India. The approach in the 2nd innings was refreshing and better to see. Hope the turnaround comes in Perth. Please get your lineup right, and please be positive on the field.

So many 100s in this match:

100th SCG test match
100th test wicket for Siddle
100 runs conceded from 6 players
3x100 runs for Clarke
100 for Hussey
100 for Ponting

It's amazing how Tendulkar didn't manage to score his 100th 100.

Well as they say, it takes one to know one - that's why Ganguly can spot it in other players. I didn't see much of Ashwin today, but previously he's tried to pull or hook every short ball he's faced. Perhaps ducking occasionally might aid him. I don't think he should be dropped either. No he hasn't been effective, but he's got more long term potential than Ojha IMHO, so I think India should persist with Ashwin to see how good he can get.

And bowl Yadav for goodness sake Dhoni. Leaving him to waste on the boundary was stupid. He bowled 14 of the first 46 overs, and then only 10 of the last 117

If India is feeling bold, then I'd drop 2 of Laxman/Dravid/Tendulkar/Sehwag for Perth and replace them with Rahane and Rohit. At this stage I'd probably ditch Sehwag and Dravid just because Australia still don't know how to bowl at Tendulkar, and Laxman started to get it together today. Anyway, it's not a long term plan of course to drop Sehwag, but I believe the younger players would get much more out of the last 2 Tests than any of those 4 batsmen would.

I just feel that the Indian players are just plain stupid, they seem way too arrgogant and don't actually think about the game at hand. Sehwag yes its his "natural" game btu you cant play like that in this country so learn to bat to suit the conditions, Dravid still hasnt got it into his head that if you sit there blocking there will come a ball that you cant handle on australian pitches and will get you out, Tendulkar has to stop playing for breaks an hour before they come, and stop thinking about this 100th 100 it means nothing, it apples and oranges. Laxman, he has to stop hitting it in the air, Kholi just plain sucks, Dhoni thinks a defensive field will win him the game and the fast bowlers have still not understood the right lengths to bowl, if the commentators can see it surely they can.

It is so frustrating, i want a competitive summer of test cricket and they bring this game with them its embarrassing.

Hoping for another exciting, low-scoring match in Perth - perhaps with India winning there, so they have to play for a win in Adelaide to draw the series and retain the Border-Gavaskar. How good would it be to see India actually playing for a win?!

----------

Ideally, it'll all come down to a last session in Adelaide in which all three results are still possible. Would. Be. Awesome.

Haha.. Funny seeing Australians wanting a competitive series against India. Personally, I see, if India are too crap then oh well, lets thrash them!

Last summer were in tears for us not being competitive, throwing our toys out the prams bla bla bla.. Now we aren't happy that we are winning 'too easy'?

Australian cricket fans, some of the hardest people to please in the world! :lol

LOL!

Harsh... but some true.

Sehwag, hes a crumb... Plays every innings like its a one dayer, And shows nothing of the real Sehwag when batting out here.

Dravid, isn't playing that badly, probably just worrying a bit too much about the movement of the ball.

Tendulkar, obviously really really wants this 100th hundred and its bogging him down even though hes playing the best out of the Indian batsman.

Laxman, old balls... Probably past his prime.

Dhoni, playing stupid strokes, hits in the air too much like Sehwag.

If it wasn't for Ponting, Clarke and Hussey then this test could of gone the other way seeing our top 3 aren't firing either! Also in saying this, India's bowling and field settings have been putrid.

haha yes harsh I know, but i had to let it out lol. I think like us they have one too many older players and they havent given the new kids enough time to be good. laxman should have been gone a long time ago and Kholi should have come in earlier. an experienced Kholi and Rohit might have put up a good fight.
