Border-Gavaskar Trophy (India in Australia) Dec-Jan 2011/12

Well, saw Ashok Dinda has 27 wickets this season in 5 matches but thats no reason to take him to Australia. Irfan must be picked as even he has the form as Dinda has but has the experience of an Aussie tour before plus his batting.

If just by judging form, TP Sudhindra should be in the squad seeing he is the highest wicket taker this season with 32 wickets and is a RIGHT ARM FAST . God knows how fast? may be 129 KMPH ?:rolleyes

He hardly touches 125Kmph

Its clear. Irfan Pathan is not being liked by someone either in the BCCI top brass, the selectors or the Indian team management (which includes the captain). I am confident it must not be the captain because I dont believe Dhoni would go to this length to keep Irfan out. Its someone else within Indian cricket that doesnt want Irfan. He was selected for the two ODI's just to fool the Indian public that Aal iz well!

Anyways, Dinda can bowl fast and is not a very bad choice. God forbids if Zaheer pulls out, it will be comical to see who is his replacement. Hope Zaheer stays fit for our team's sake.

Edit: Ganguly says Dinda is India's best pace bowler right now (Source: Indiatimes). REALLY SAURAV???? I thought you were more mature than that! IDIOT!:mad

I am starting to wish Munaf and Sreesanth were fit.

Cannot understand some of your obsession with Pathan. He was out of form for so long and failed in the opportunities he got.

Anyway I am hoping all rounder Ganguly will return.

Rohit Sharma has failed more then what Pathan has and Rohit has got more opportunities then what Pathan has got, can you imagine 3 years out of the Indian side? I know he did not perform well, and he had to make way for some one.

I remember when people used to call Rohit as Nohit in Indian team.

Ganguly just showed his regional bias by calling dinda the best pace bolwer in the country.Just lost a lot of respect for him.

surely it would be mad to go with 2 spinners given australia's problems against seam bowling of late. no way would ojha play.

And the MCG pitch for the Big Bash match on Saturday night looked quick and bouncy - Gayle and Khawaja both copped one on the gloves. If it's a similar pitch for boxing day it would be hard to play 2 spinners.

Good spin would still tie Australia down I think. Clarke's the only one who really scores freely against them, and that often gets him into trouble with overconfidence. The others tend to plonk their front foot down the pitch and try and work the spinners. I can see guys like Hussey, Watson, Khawaja getting bogged against spin.

If cricinfo is accurate with the 13-man Chairman's squad - JP Behrendorff, DE Bollinger, CJ Boyce, TLW Cooper, EJM Cowan, AJ Doolan, PR George, JM Holland, PJ Hughes, UT Khawaja, JK Lalor, TP Ludeman?, DA Warner*

I gotta think Holland will be the one left out entirely. Haven't seen much of Boyce, but he bowled well in the first game. Behrendorff, George and Lalor would make good use of the experience and Bollinger needs to show his fitness.

On the other hand, Warner vs Ashwin on such a pitch might make for sore hands in General Admission.

Well, Sehwag hasn't scored runs not worried though but *touch wood* hoping gambhir keeps on.knocking 50's as he will surely convert them big soon ;)

Good start for the youngsters - Behrendorff and Lalor extremely tidy and a wicket each. George on the expensive side but picked up Sehwag.

i agree with you that rohit did not translate his IPL form into international cricket in 2009-2010, but he is doing now.
Rohit sharma was always the star of IPL, Kohli and other young batsman still rated below him in IPL.

Rohit has smashed all international bowlers in EVERY YEAR OF IPL, but Irfan has got smashed by all domestic and international batsman in IPL. If irfan was doing well in IPL, then he would have got chance in Indian ODI team on basis of IPL performance only.

Irfan did well in Ranji cricket and he got called up for Indian ODI team.
Irfan has taken 21 wickets in 4 matches and Similarly Dinda has taken 21 wickets in 4 matches. Dinda bowls 10Kmph more than Irfan and that could be logic of picking him over irfan as both of them have taken equal number of wickets in FC this year.

I have always hated ganguly as he always supports players of his state only or player which he brought to indian side. There was time when he used to pick Harbhajan over Kumble. :facepalm Dhoni career started late just because of him.

i am happy that Dinda has called up as i do think he is better bowler than Mithun or Vinay. If Zaheer gets injured, then selector will send Irfan.
