Border-Gavaskar Trophy (India in Australia) Dec-Jan 2011/12

One wicket closer, well bowled by Siddle and a easy catch for Cowan. Ashwin will probably get some more short stuff in the rest of the series now.

The Laxman thing was touch and go (it was a no ball as the foot landed outside the line though it looked like in the previous frame, it had landed and then slided). But no complains, because it was a poor shot and we have batted poorly so far (except Dravid and Tendulkar and Ashwin:D, no one else has batted well enough).

How was it a no ball again? His foot clearly slid, right?

His foot looked in the air in that initial frame which looked like landing to the umpire who used that frame to give him out. But where he actually landed his foot was in the next frame where his foot was on the line. The umpire took the previous frame for reference and gave him out. And DRS wouldnt have done anything in this.

Just the kind of batting you'll expect from Zaheer.. he does get a little over excited, doesn't he? Kind-of like Sehwag :)

Anyway, this takes my count to 4 - the number of times I've seen him getting out in similar fashion, after hitting one or two outta the park. Remember something of the sort during the world cup too :)

But to be fair to him.. he is a tail-ender.

So awesome having all three of our quicks bowling well, hopefully they stay fit for the rest of the series. Couldn't have asked for more from them with the bat either, no idea why they'd promote Lyon ahead, he's done well at 11, but not that good.

Just a couple of bunnies in Sharma and Yadav to go now :clap

Kohli's performance in test matches has been very disappointing. He did play a test match in England and played against West Indies too but didn't make a big impression and now in this match, he hasn't done any justice to his talent either. I guess it's time to try out Rohit Sharma in tests. His batting is ideal for test matches and believe me, he can be really excellent with the bat in Australia. Some of you might remember the last Australian tour, Rohit Sharma played in the CB series and was very impressive. The problem with Kohli is, he doesn't have that "patience" that is required in test matches. He is just like Raina in tests but the thing with Raina is, his defense is very poor whereas Kohli's defense is fine. Dhoni also needs to make some runs with the bat in test matches, our lower batting order is our problem. Number 6 and 7 not being able to contribute at all is a sign to worry.

And how has Laxman not made runs in this second innings? Aussie fans, be ready, that guy has got something special to show in the next test. :spy Also, if I recall correctly, Tendulkar has got 3 consecutive centuries in the 3 test matches that he has played in Sydney? Make it 4 Tendulkar, make it 4! :p

Yeah I was backing Laxman to put on a show. Kohli's definitely a hot prospect for ODI's, but Rohit has to get his chance for the second test and I have a feeling he'll do well given an opportunity.

India Lost By 122 Runs YAHOO :):)
