Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo could reportedly miss the 2014 FIFA World Cup due to an "incurable injury," that a witch doctor in Ghana is taking credit for, the Metro site of UK reported. If Nana Kwaku Bosnam?s curse works out, the Portugal team could be without their top star as they compete in the same group for the Brazil soccer tournament as Ghana, and Team USA, in just under two weeks from now. According to The Guardian in their June 4 report, Nana Kwaku Bonsam, which translates to ?Devil of Wednesday,? is considered the most influential witch doctor in all of Ghana.
Back in February of this year, he reportedly
predicted that Ronaldo would miss the entire World Cup tournament in Brazil due to injury. Just this past weekend he was sidelined with tendinosis in the left knee, which kept him out of Portugal?s friendly matchup against Greece. The contest ended in an 0-0 draw.
"I said it four months ago that I will work on Cristiano Ronaldo seriously and
rule him out of the World Cup or at least
prevent him from playing against Ghana. This injury can never be cured by any
medic, they can never see what is
causing the injury because it is spiritual,?
the witch doctor commented after noting
he found four dogs to be used as part of
making a special spirit known as Kahwiri Kapam.
The India Today site has noted that Ronaldo, along with Raul Meireles, Pepe and Beto of the Portuguese Football squad were recentl spending time at the New York Jets? training center to get in better shape for the World Cup tournament. The team will be playing in two upcoming friendlies in New England, one of which will be held at the Jets? MetLife Stadium.
"We hope that Cristiano is in good enough shape to play and to help the
team," teammate Nani told reporters
recently.
?Ronaldo is going well, and he is relaxed
about it. Things are going the right way."
While the witch doctor is trying to make sure Ronaldo is not part of the tournament and can?t play against the Ghana team, Portugal team officials believe otherwise. They have said they expect the midfielder to be fit and able to participate in the World Cup tournament which starts on June 12 in Brazil.
Portugal is scheduled for an international
friendly soccer match on Friday when they?ll play against Team Mexico at the New England Patriot?s Gillette Stadium.
