Story Brendon vs Callum vs Jono - A Worcestershire Battle

April 2012 Update

This was an incredibly close match. Eventually they had 9 runs left to score, and we had 1 wicket left in the last over and it was a draw. Lots of starts but no one went on to a decent score. Afridi bowled pretty well on the last day and Finn was impressive.

A good win for us here. Aimson and Rush were great in the first innings, with Rush scoring another fifty in the second innings too. Finn and Afridi were again our best bowlers as we skittled them in the fourth innings.

Really annoyingly, Afridi got injured batting and wasn't able to bowl at all in this match. Again a number of starts, but no one scored a decent total, and without Afridi out bowling was severely lacking.

I'm terrible at OD matches.

A great chase for us here. Ireland bowled well, with Wheeldon providing good support. Mitchell batted well in the first innings, with Rush also being impressive. They left us 310 to chase in 2 sessions. Decided I may as well go after it, and Mitchell was great in scoring his second century of the match. Ali played a good aggressive knock, with O'Brien finishing the innings off with 42 off 26 or something. 3 overs left I believe.

Didn't you have a University match?

lol, Mitchell is doing ████ all for me and he's scoring hundreds and fifties with ease for you. Has Afridi done anything with the bat for you?

Nah Afridi batted at 8 so he didn't really get an opportunity to show anything with the bat.

No university match :(

Mitchell is still gun for me. He's rated higher than O'Brien and Rush according to the game.

Meh, I've never actually checked Mitchell's rating but I assumed he was fairly good. What's his bowling rating like anyway? Cause he can normally take a few wickets.

And yeah, that's probably a good idea batting Afridi at 8. Murtaza Hussain got injured in my next game against Durham so I think I'll move Afridi down to 8 and play Wheeldon.

This looks interesting , unlucky not to get that final wicket and whose winning , if you can win this?

Well we're playing 3 different saves and if you go by performances, I'm winning as I had the most points in all 3 formats last season and I'm the only one in the first County Championship division.

I haven't checked the ratings but this is according to the default lineup

I've been batting Wheeldon at 7 because he's actually not too bad as a batting all-rounder

Yeah, he scored 51 in the first innings against Essex and still got 20 off 28 in the second as I asked him to attack.

Garry Park is so awesome. He just scored 189 :D

I should be doing my law readings (bloody lecturer gave us 100 pages to read...of her own textbook) but I might play a bit :D

----------

My university match is on the 29th of May :lol

As I just said in the NZPL thread:

FFS, my computer broke...

My dad went away yesterday just before it broke, and he doesn't get back until like Friday, so I don't think they'll be any action until at least then.

I might try and fix it on Wednesday night myself, but I'm pretty busy tonight and tomorrow anyway.

You guys can go ahead if you want, and I'll catch up later.

Monthly Review:

Well another great month for us, after losing our first game of the month against Durham but going on to lose only 2 other matches, one again to Durham in the CT and Kent in the CT. So in the County Championship D1, I'm in 4th with 3 wins, 1 loss and 3 draws with 99 points, 2 behind Hampshire, 5 behind Essex and 26 behind Yorkshire. We also sit on top of the Challenge Trophy with 4 wins from our 6 games. Even with the great couple of months, w do have some injury problems, Murtaza Hussain and Julian Stafford still out for a long time and other players have suffered minor injuries along the way. The other problem is my second opener, and both openers in OD matches. Daryl Mitchell is averaging only 16.71 in FC cricket and Moore has played only four matches and although is averaging over 40, he did make 80 in the warmup game but coming back from injury, he made 2 scores under 20. In OD cricket, Norris, Moore, Mitchell, Ali and Ambrose have all been tried out opening the batting but noone is yet to score a half century opening, although Norris scored 49. Norris averages 20 in 5 games, Ali scored 35 runs in his 2 games, Moore scored 1 in his only game, Mitchell scored 24 in his only game and Ambrose is averaging a little over 10 in his 3 matches.

Anyway, Garry Park continues to impress, already 942 runs @ 78.5 in FC cricket and 272 runs @ 90.67 in OD cricket but he had an unbeaten 50, and 2 unbeaten 90 odd knocks. Christopher Pears meanwhile has been lethal with the new ball this season, 43 wickets @ 24.42 in FC cricket and 21 wickets @ only 10.57 with an ER of only 4.26 as well and 2 five wicket hauls. He's also proven to be a handy batsman down the order and could very well move above Afridi who has done ████ all with the bat.

My computers still broken, my dad got back yesterday, but he's being annoying and not even taking a look at it.

Hopefully I can get it back running today so I can post my first month today/tomorrow, as I won't be able to play much at all from Monday - Thursday.

I'd rather not bump the NZPL thread, so this doubles up as a notice for that.

As far as we've figured my hard drive pretty much cricketed up, which caused my computer to stop working.

So ATM my dad's building a new computer for me, which has more or less been finished, but something hasn't worked so the internet's not working.

Once everything's finished I'll be able to chuck my old hard drive in there, and then pretty much pray (even though I'm not religious) that it works, because if it doesn't I'll lose all my NZPL files and all my save files for ICC.

I don't know how long it'll be before it gets up and running, but it more than likely won't be before next weekend.

And then after that if my hard drive is actually cricketed, I won't really be able to continue this.
