Story A Managers Journey to the top - Notts Fall To Heavy Defeat Against Yorkshire

Yorkshire vs Nottinghamshire

No changes were made for this match against Yorkshire and we would be looking to secure a spot in the next round. Voges won the toss and had a bat first. We would want to put up a total of 190 or so as it was a very good pitch to bat on.

We batted poorly only putting up 106/9 from our 20 over's. Jefferson was dismissed first ball of the match and Patel went soon after for 1. Wood made 25 from 18 balls but Voges and Wagh both failed. Klokker and Ealham both made 21 but it probably wouldn't be enough as we would be defending 106. Naved-ul-Hasan was pick of the bowlers with 5 wickets

Yorkshire had no trouble chasing it down only losing 2 wickets and with 19 balls to spare. Rudolph top scored with 45. Fletcher was the most economical bowler with 0/16 off 3.5 over's.

A disappointing effort there.
106 was never really going to be enough, Adams wasn't impressive with the ball. :(

Warwickshire vs Nottinghamshire - Day 1

Back to the 4 day format now and we would be wanting to stay unbeaten in the Championship. Only 1 change was made to the T20 side that played Yorkshire, Jefferson dropped for Hales. It was predicted sunny for today but it wasn't looking good for Days 2-4, predicting dark cloud cover and some rain. The pitch was also pretty good for batting so it was a very good toss to win. It was unfortunate though when we lost the toss and were put out into the field. Hopefully we could take a few early wickets and put the pressure on.

It went from bad to worse though as the bowlers couldn't trouble them and they went into lunch at 92 without loss. The 2 big wickets of the openers fell in the space of 2 over's both having scored half centuries but Trott and Bell pulled it back to go into tea at 177/2. Brown and Patel had taken the wickets. 2 wickets fell in the final session but Warwickshire were still in control at 288/4 at stumps, Bell still not out on 75. The wickets to fall in the final session was Trott who was run out for 28 and Ambrose caught at slip off Ealham for 41. Clarke was on 21* off 14 balls at stumps.

We would want early wickets in the morning provided it doesn't rain and then hope to close the deficit when we go out to bat.

Their batsman haven't really allowed you guys to get in the game ATM.
Hopefully they collapse for under 100 more runs, and you can start well towards a 1st innings lead.
