Story A Managers Journey to the top - Notts Fall To Heavy Defeat Against Yorkshire

Squads_DER_v_NOT.jpg

I only made 1 change for this match, Stuart Broad being dropped to make way for Luke Fletcher. We would be wanting to continue our very good form in the T20 competition with another win. We won the toss and had a bowl first on a good pitch for bowlers, both seam and spin. It was also cloudy and dark helping with spin.

We bowled alright and kept them to 177/8 from their 20 over's, Adams taking 2/34 from 4 over's and Patel taking 3/33 from 4 over's with Sidebottom, Pattinson and Swann all taking a wicket a piece. Telo top scored for them with 57* off 46 balls. Clarke also hit a quick 45 off 30 balls.

We started well putting on a 40 odd opening partnership before we collapsed, Jefferson run out for 15, Wood bowled for 23 before Patel, Voges, Brown, Klokker and Swann all failed to get into double figures and Adams only made 11 but Fletcher and Sidebottom put on a 30 run partnership, Fletcher scoring 26* off 30 balls and Sidebottom scoring 10* off 20 but it was way too slow, leaving us 69 runs short on 108/8. A batting collapse makes us lose. We had to come back strongly after that.

The story has been good so far.Though you could put some more effort in writing.I've seen some previous updates and all look same with the trend-a line-ups screenie, some write-up and again 2-3 screenies.

^^^ He said that was all he was doing for this story, correct me if I'm wrong, but his main story Cricket 07: My Career Diary.

A pretty bad loss there, I'm not sure if you do, but I hate playing T20's, as I find collapses way to common.

I will put some more effort in later but I hate T20's so much. And like CG said, the Cricket 07 Diary is my story as there is so many matches in this so if I'm posting so much on each match, it will take forever to get through 1 season.

@ Jake, as a matter of fact, the only player I have edited is Voges which I said I had on the first page.

Wagh was given another chance in the side, replacing Brown and Fletcher was dropped after 2 expensive overs in the previous game, Broad replacing him. We won the toss again and had a bat first after that collapse batting second. It was also a good pitch for batting.

Again, we did well batting first, Jefferson and Voges hitting half centuries to give us 178/2 from our 20 over's. Jefferson finished with 87* off 54 balls and Voges hit 65* off 51 balls with Wood and Patel not being able to get past 20. All their bowlers were neither economocial or really expensive other than Plunkett who conceded 42 off his 4 over's.

It was never tough after getting off to a great start with them at 3/57 after 10 over's, bowling really tight. We continued to bowl well bowling them out for 133 in 19.4 over's. Broad took a wonderful 4/26 from 4 over's, Swann contributed well with 3/25 with Sidebottom bowling economically with 2/18 from 3.4 over's and Adams taking 1 wicket for 29 from his 4 over's. Patel bowled the 1 expensive over and didn't bowl anymore and Pattinson bowled a bit expensive conceding 21 runs from 3 over's. A very good result for us and batting first did the trick this time.

So you actually edited one? Oh my lord, have you ever had a save you haven't edited?

Swann, Sidebottom and Broad were again all selected for England so I had to replace them in which I did for Ealham, Brown and Fletcher. No other changes were made to the side. They won the toss and elected to bat first on a pitch with some help for bowlers so it wasn't a huge advantage to bat first. We still would have probably had a bat first though.

They battled through to 137/7 from their 20 over's after falling to 2/1 after 3 balls with Adams on a hattrick. Adams had got us off well taking 2 wickets for 2 runs off his first over but they fought back back well but the run rate was still low. They were 5/78 after 14 over's but a quickfire innings from Nixon scoring 26 off 11 balls got them to a reasonable total. It wasn't going to be easy chasing on this pitch. Adams and Brown were pick of the bowlers taking 3/26 and 2/16 from 4 over's respectively.

It was not a problem though for the batsman as they cruised past the total with 7 wickets in hand and 15 balls to spare. Wood top scored with 67 off 49 balls with support from Patel who scored 39 off 23 and Voges who got us over the line with 22* off 23 balls. Woods knock earnt him Man Of The Match. That took us into second place taking over Lancashire after they lost their fifth match the previous day.
