Because when you become a staff member you agree that any issues you have will be raised first with the admins and not thrown straight to the members.
Had the thread been in the staff forum we'd have had no problem with it.

Members can't see the staff forum though can they?! That's the point, the members had been dying to make a thread like that for weeks.

What about the rules though? We all know the rules regarding those issues, and if staff members/admins would have been bombarded with PMs on the matter rather than a whole thread from its members, im sure it would have had greater effect without the consiquences that have arisen here.

Well, freedom of speech is allowed to a certain extent. As for the poll, I don't really think it would change the staff member's minds on the issue like I doubt this thread will...

this thread won't change anything and neither will a poll but it is fun to cause a bit of a stir and get some interesting stuff going on in the forums Theres no way the mods would go back now,they wouldn't e brave enough to do it even if they changed their minds because it would stop them being soo invincible. A poll would be interesting to see whos in the majority

If you felt that strongly about it though, then surely it should have been enough for you to voice your issues with the staff/admin without the need for support from others.

Well everything if it comes from someone who is involved in running the forum.

I personally was appalled/shocked when I saw Duff as the thread starter. If mods have a problem/advise/etc it has to go through the mods room first, rule of thumb for most, if not all fora.

Yes, but you still should have done it, aired your views, you dont know how many other people could have done it already or might have been in the process of doing it, so it was still worth doing.

It might not have made a difference but you are at least bringing it to the attention of the staff/admin who can then discuss it with fellow staff and moderate the situation. Had this happened this whole predicament would never have occured and we would not be having this discussion right now.

i think what has got us all in a tangle is no non mod understands how the system works and the fact that all mods are getting frustrated at us for a lack of knowledge of something we couldnt find and info on just started a riot

there is a percentage of people who had a view that all mods were being to harsh and Duff voiced that opinion. There was an occasion where a similiar thread was created then deleted because it involved this issue. It has finally brought itself to a head and exploded. Duff was the only mod who gave a voice to the non mod members and we thank him for that. What he did was wrong by one group of people but right by the other.

And there is a larger Percentage who has a view that the Mods and Adminds were fair. But to be honest BF was right. Not wrong, right.
