I posted this in the Duff Club thread, but I think it applies here also:

Duff apparently viewed problems regarding the way the staff operated and that’s absolutely fine. But, the first mistake he made was not posting his views in the Staff forum, which is specifically designed for discussion related to staff matters and problems. If you’re going to call the staff corrupt, shouldn’t you at least tell them that you have problems? Second, there was no reason to call the staff corrupt, as there is no system of benefit here and there was no need to generalize the behavior of the staff, which ironically, includes him.

Now, I’m sure you will agree that the first mistake alone justifies his demotion from the staff. Once you go commit an act in an under-handed manner, you lose trust and when you lose trust among your peers, you’re not going to work in a cohesive way.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that Duff is a bad member. He’s obviously been active and he can still continue to be. He can still continue to voice his concerns about PC like other members, which is why his thread remains open.

Just days before Duff’s thread, there was another thread created to discuss the forum’s lack of activity and the reasons for it, which tellingly, went off the subject within three pages.

Are we talking about Duff's post, not the concept of the thread?

Well, he was speaking with a collective voice of the members.

I think this Thread should now be closed, and only updated by the admins/staff

A few people have been asking me on MSN why wasn't Duff given a second chance? The answer is that he actually was. On monday we told him that if he closed the thread and apologised for posting it we would be able to overlook this but instead he defended his right to post it and said he stood by his comments and had no regrets. This does not come down to a simple misunderstanding.
Duff left us with no choice and there is no chance of him being reinstated as a result of petitions, polls etc.

So now youve basicly made a very good statement, end the thread for mainly spam on how they love him etc.

You could of said that before :p. As much as I want to disagree with the staff's decision becasue of how helpful Duff was, I believe this was their only option, as if they had no trust in him, they cannot work together and therefore he would no longer be a valuable member of the staff.

I wasn't telling i was asking, it will overload with so much spam and flame. Thanks :)

That's the explanation a lot of us have been waiting for. Since we couldn't see the staff forum, we had no idea what was going on.
