Champions League Thread (the dawn of time - 2014)

Playing at home in the second leg is actually a disadvantage, I feel. Chelsea did get a good result in Spain, but Barca has the opportunity to score away from home.

Having said that I think Barca will be buoyed by their clasico win, but this might actually make them over-confident once again. Nevertheless, I think this is a bigger test for Chelsea than the final. I am going for a 2-1 win to the Blues, and I have a feeling that Essien will score the decisive goal!

Lol I was reading a quote in Nuts yesterday from that boy Cristiano that made me laugh;

"United is the biggest thing in Manchester and then after that it's Coronation Street" :D

Unlucky City.

Gutted. Couldn't even talk about football until lunch. We were killed off in the first 10 minutes and it's a shame the way it happened. Make no mistake about it, United deserved it but the tie was finished after that Gibbs slip. We started like we meant business so it was a real body blow. Still, can't wait for next season - the league that is.

You guys need to get two strong, dominant centre-backs to stand any chance next year. What happened to the stonewall days of Adams, Keown, Winterburn and Dixon?

United's third goal was the best counter attack I have ever seen, 8 touches between Vidic heading the corner away and Ronaldo scoring, amazing!

I have a feeling Barcelona will win tonight. If that is the case, I will be cheering on United in the final.

I think I'd prefer Barca in the final. Simply put, our defence v their attack: we win. Our attack v their defence: we win. Whereas a repeat of last year's final would also have the revenge factor for Chelsea, especially as they went out on penalties.

This has shades of the United Barca semi final last year.

Yeah quality goal that, stunning. They really missed Essien when he was out. Alves booked anyway, which is a big boost for us if Barca get through.

I'd prefer Barca to get through, would be a better final (although I actually thought last year's was very good) and it wouldn't be as tough to take losing to them.

A cracking goal. I thought it was one of those that would just scrape the crossbar. There was a Barcelona fan in a black leather jacket behind the goal who began clapping when it went in, to applaud such a good strike.

And that is why i hate football sometime. Chelsea is supposed to lead by 2 or 3 goals, if referee has not been blind. Anyway Game on, Penalty would be perfect end of this match.

That refereee was an absolute joke tonight. How Chelsea weren't given at least one penalty is just a joke.

Ok sorry i forgot that Barca with away goal, will face Man U in finals.
Damn, this is really Harsh on Chelsea.Drogba has nearly punched referee there. :p

Incredible. What a cruel game this is. Chelsea deserved to go through after all the hard work over the two legs. 27th May then, Man United vs Barcelona. Let's hope we get a better referee!
