Champions League Thread (the dawn of time - 2014)

Very happy. Do feel for Chelsea and Drogba's reaction summed it up but Barca didn't look like scoring all night really.

Chelsea would be a much tougher game imo, and I said that after watching Barca on Saturday. Still we could just get totally dominated in midfield and it will be a really tough game, we'll hav to be on top form but I' rather play them, especially with Barca not having either full back and Marquez is out for the season I think.

Chelsea were so unlucky, I won't begrudge any of their fans having a right old rant.

Perfect final, best 2 sides imo.

Barcelona goes through! Great ending of the match. But this was nowhere near the football they showed against Real Madrid.

Bad thing is that Barcelona will miss Daniel Alves and Abidal in the final. I don't mind about Daniel Alves, if he plays like tonight. But Puyol and Henry might come back.

I agree that Chelsea were unlucky but there's some boy who cried wolf going on. If Drogba and Anelka didn't go down every time the wind blew they'd have a bit more credibility when it comes to penalty shouts.
Hard lines but Chelsea were way too defensive and their tactics were poor imo.

Shocking refereeing. We were robbed. Simple as.

very bad refereeing
but Drogba misses some easy chance also
what can i say that a bad day for Chelsea

How passionate is Didier Drogba!? He just clearly said "this is a f*****g disgrace" on Sky!

The great thing is that Barcelona played with 10 players for about half an hour (including extra time). Abidal got a red card, that he actually didn't deserved. The commentators couldn't find anything what Abidal did wrong. Now they're saying Anelka tripped over his own legs.

If he was in favour of Barcelona, why would he give a red card to Abidal?

First of all, all teams just shut up shop away and we did that well and were probably unlucky to score. Second game it wasn't as defensive as the first.

Tactics were poor? Shutting barca out for 2 legs, not letting them get 1 goal?
Stick to cricket, I heard Scotland aren't too good at Football(being in Europe doesn't make you good).

It is clear that UEFA did not want an English final.

I just hope they don't fix the final too.

I thought Guardiola got it all wrong tactically, Eto'o and Messi were not in it at all really and the defence had no end of problems.

Chelsea should be well pissed off and I really hope everyone pushes the whole anti English thing because it will benefit us in the final ;) Hopefully we won't have to really on incompetent refs though.

'It's a f**king disgrace'

Didier Drogba on the bald Norweigen bloke who messed up the second leg

I've got to agree though. As a passionate Chelsea fan I was truly gutted when the Barca goal went in considering it should of been 2-0 to Chelsea by then.

So, Barcelona. Brilliant? Amazing?

No.

Over-RATED.

They knock goals in by the hatful against teams from La Liga, but when they come up against a real team, a Premiership team that's going to fight and battle, they can't do it! One shot on target, and it goes in. Let's face it, if that referee wasn't as useless as he was, Barcelona would in all likelihood have been easily beaten tonight. Chelsea should've had a minimum of three penalties!

Drogba is going to get into so much trouble for that. It was his fault you're out (again). He should've scored, or rolled it across to Essien who was in acres!!

Still, that defender really should've cleared! All he had to do was connect with the ball and boot it to Mars, and somehow he missed it. He connects with that ball, Barca don't score.

Although it's clear Chelsea should have had probably 4 penalties, 3 at least, Drogba and Ballack should not have reacted like they did. Ballack shouted in the ref's face and tried to drag him back to force him into making a decision, and Drogba's rant was just laughable really. I appreciate and respect his passion, but that's not the way to react or confront an official, no matter how bad he may have been. It really should have been a United-Chelsea final though, such a shame for Chelsea!
