United's team

VDS

Hargreaves
Brown
Rio
Evra

Park
Carrick
Scholes

Ronaldo
Rooney
Tevez

A blow to be missing Vida and going for Park in central midfield is a strange one, Fergie said he had someone in mind to deal with Messi and it looks like that someone is Park. Giggs, Nani and Anderson on the bench so there are options, but thankfully Giggs isn't playing. Hopefully Scholes can return to some form.

No Henry for them, or Bojan, both on the bench. Messi's playing though, if and its a big if, we can keep him and Eto'o quiet, we should have a chance.

I'm pessimistic though given our past records in european semi-finals, I can't see us winning tonight.

EDIT: Don't be fooled by the way I've set out the line-up, we'll be playing 4-5-1 alright.

Damn C Ronaldo..
You sucks..

That could have been 1 Goal Lead within 3rd Minute!!!

How Could you miss that Penalty?:(

I miss the first 5 mins and I miss a pen!

As for the second appeal, it wasn't as clear cut a pen as Andy Gray is making it out to be. No doubt who he's supporting.

I find myself torn between who I'm supporting. Utd are the English team, are the best in Europe and have my utmost respect but when your team hasn't won the CL, it's hard to watch another English team win it.

Anyway, the first 10 mins of this match have more than the eclipsed the whole of Pool-Chelsea.

He didn't stagger his run up. Whenever he doesn't stagger his run up, he seems to miss! Tonight and same thing against West Ham. Oh and that ref bottled the second penalty appeal, it was even more a penalty than the first one!

Good result though, 0-0 as I predicted, now back to Old Trafford for that 2-1.

Now for Chelski.

Should have had at least 1 penalty probably 2 (not including the one we got obviously :p), you can't just shove a player off the ball with no attempt to get it whatsoever, anywhere else it's given. The other one probably was, yes he got the ball but he went straight through the back of him to get it. Having said that had Eto'o gone down Rio was off and they had a peno.

We were awful but we still got a 0-0 draw, having played against that I expect Barca to be overconfident anyway, I think had we scored the peno though we could have blown them away. Oh well 0-0 and I really we should do it.

Why play Rooney on the right and Ronaldo up front, Rooneys a striker, Ronaldo's a winger. He must have put Rooney there for his defensive abilities, so why then do you brng him off for Nani, he can hardly defend, felt like he was making the change for the sake of it. Interesting return to the nou camp but with Vida back and playing the way we should play I'm confident.

Just wondering how Messi is now.

2-1! I think if that happens I'd have no fingers left at the end of the night because of nerves!

The game wasn't a classic, and it means we'll have to win next week, but it was a decent result. In fairness to them, Barcelona are an excellent football team, pass and move, pass and move and Messi impressed me. It was a clear penalty, the one that wasn't given I'm talking about, Marquez just shoved Ronaldo out of the way. There was no way we'd get 2 pens though and we can't use it as an excuse. I thought it was in the script for Henry to score against us, but luckily Van Der Sar kept his shot out.

Gonna be amazing next Tuesday!:D

Can still hear the fans in the background. :D

Considering how many peno shouts I don't think Barca can cope with us when we attack, we played as defensively as you'll ever see us and we still had real chances and cut them open.

United might rue the pen cos Barca are very capable with just one moment from Messi or henry of scoring. Will be a cracker.

Yep:D

You got on RI yet? The doomlords and JCL's are coming out in force. Yeah, we didn't play well, but 0-0 away in the Nou Camp is not a bad result at all. Barca have been underestimated by a lot of people.

They won't let me on red issue because they think I'm a wum just because my username is brrrrrap merked G

I am a little worried, because we've got a good 0-0 away before in the knockout stages, only to let in a soft goal at home. Our defence was really good tonight though, even without Vidic. With him back, we'll be fine.
Don't you think, as well as not doing his usual run-up, Ronaldo went higher than he usually does? He usually opts for low into the corner penalties. Oh well, can't do anything now, but that ref really bottled the second decision.

Utd needed a goal. I've always felt that you're vulnerable in a 2nd leg at home when away goals come into it and they can really muck you up.

After outscoring Milan at home with their top class defence and Kaka playing as well as you'll see him whilst we hadtons of injurys I'm not too worried yet. Think they need a big individual performance to go through.

Got to love Ronaldo, I will score at Manchester, we will win. He seems so determined after missing that peno and thats what makes players great, after missing the one at west ham he got 8 from his next 5 games. If he does that again it looks like we're off to Moscow with the Premiership in the bag :p
