Chappell wants Ganguly out

Nasser Hussain could still field well, and scored around 30 per match, was very consistant. Also he was brilliant as a captain.

Ganguly is not in foarm ,,, that doesent mean kick the player out ??

when the player concerned is not in form for a longer period of time, he has to be dropped! no one says ganguly should be dropped forever. if he is still interested in making a comeback, let him go to domestic cricket and find his touch back and then try to win the faith of chappell! if he really wants to figure in the 2007 world cup, its time for him now to find his feet in domestic cricket!

one more thing to everyone, if you had read the letter of chappell (posted in this forum by sohummisra), he never said that it would be difficult for him to continue as coach if Ganguly is dropped. He just said that he is not prepared to sit back and do the same thing that his predecessor did! that exactly doesnt mean he will quit if ganguly is retained as captain (which he most probably will)!

Nasser Hussain was crap and never scord many runs for England when he was captain.
Michael Vaughan hasnt made many big scores since being captain for England but has made good tactical decisions to win us the Ashes back so we dont bother criticising him.
P.S: sohummisra, someones taken your Boredmeeting title off u, go get it back LOL.

Well ur Michael Vaughan did score a timely century in the middle of the ashes.

Ganguly on his current form and mindset doesnt merit a place in the team! Let how many ever Indian players be pro-Ganguly! You dont get the love of everyone from the team. You will end up having some haters within the team. But I want Chappell to stand firmly and not let anything hamper his vision. He still should be an integral part of India's plans for World Cup 2007.

Why doesnt Chappell persuade Sachin to reconsider captaincy? I am sure Sachin would get the captaincy hands down if he makes himself available for it! He is more matured than what he was in 2000 when he relinquished captaincy! He should be a better captain now than how he was before!

And yes Its about time that Ganguly went. Since 2000 he hasn't made a significant contribution with bat when it really mattered. And please rermember guys that this batting slump is his second and in fact I believe he is simply not the player he was so all of u Ganguly supporters think on ur feet.
Ganguly is just playing political games only to extend his contract and cash flow. Some players do that especially in India because we Indians are so much crazy for cricket for no particular reason. This is harsh truth that just being in Indian team has so much fame and riches that the desire to perform well and think for ur country and the people is simply impractical. Nothing wrong there either as its human nature!! :onpc
And some people are just dumb stupid not to see this. I believe this is worse than match-fixing. Azhar at least occasionally played well when it mattered.
And for those people who are comparing India's win-loose record under Ganguly; Remember that under Azhar India won more ODI finals than Ganguly.

You're right on target there about the ODI finals! A comparison isnt even good for Azhar-Ganguly's ODI finals record! I think India have won many ODI finals under Azhar just to name some (Sharjah 1998, Independence Cup in Bangladesh, Singer Akai Nidahas Cup in Sri Lanka, etc).

Oh yes 1998-99 was golden period for India in ODIs. And to add some spice here India never lost a home series under Azhar. Under Ganguly India lost one very badly and England, New Zealand, Pakistan, Zimbabwe all gave India hard time. (on both occasions pakistan managed to Draw the series). Reason - India was playing with 10 players!! LOLZ

This Chappell is acting like a little child who can't get his own way. Let him resign, he doesn;t seem that amazing to me, I mean India lost that recent Tri Series.

Chappell has shown promise! Both tri series were very close affairs and with a little more application in those finals, India would have ended up winners in both the tri series. India were in their best positions in consistently two finals and they gave up consistently which is of course, to be debated!

But they definitely show a big improvement! It seems to me that certain players are not buying the vision and ideas of the coach and are not responding favorably to his coaching methods! I think thats the reason why you find India losing matches which we should have won! Harbhajan has sounded it indirectly that some of the players are not willing to take up the workload of the coach. I wish those players are sacked! We have good players sitting in domestic cricket who can serve India well. Let them come in! We dont need guys who dont respond well to Chappell. Chappell is a long term coach and will definitely take us up if we respond to him well

I dont think Chappell is going anywhere.
I mean,if no chappell then who ?
Chappell was chosen because of gangluy.Dravid, sachin and the others wanted tom moody.

If anyones going out its gotta be ganguly.
The meeting will have a great effect on the team.
If ganguly goes ,so will yuvraj shing go.All of ganguly's favourites will go.Would be good.

if ganguly goes, no body is going to follow him back... i dont think guys like yuvraj, zaheer, nehra, etc are all stupids to blindly protest and follow their captain back out of the team! their prime importance is to play for india and since ganguly played, they kept supporting him. now that ganguly is gone, they wont make that mistake of going out and will remain back in the team.

on the contrary, the leaving of ganguly will instill fear among his favorites and would make them perform to keep their place. now if chappell wins this battle, then thats it. guys like harbhajan, zaheer, yuvraj, nehra, etc have to perform to remain in the team or they would be discarded without mercy. dravid is a guy who pays heed to chappell (you all saw the sri lanka odi series where chappell's moves were implemented by dravid in the batting order!).

so i am expecting chappell to win tomorrow for the sake of indian cricket! enough is enough with ganguly! if he wins tomorrow, then to the indian fans - stop dreaming about the world cup win! its not going to happen!
