Choose wisely! (A RNG Draft)

Okay, this is getting ridiculous.

@Disharies you have 12 hours to pick or you're getting removed from the draft, at this point

Scroll to bottom for Round 3 pool!

Firstly, Disharies has been removed from the draft for consistently not following the rules and expectations of a draftee. (More specifically: firstly picking incorrectly, then invalidly, then invisibly).
Alright, here's the list of people's picks:

@ddrap14 - :wi: :bat: Alvin Kallicharran
@Aislabie - :wi: :bwl: Colin Croft
@Aravind. - :eng: :bat: Dennis Amiss
@pillowprocter - :sri: :ar: Dushan Hemantha
@Paranoid Kendroid - :eng: :bat: Dennis Amiss
@icyman - :eng: :bwl: Bob Willis
@Till Valhalla - :eng: :bwl: Willie Hogg
@Perfect Square - :eng: :bat: David Lloyd
@ahmedleo414 - :eng: :bat: Dennis Amiss
@Supreme General - :sri: :bwl: Chaminda Bandara
@Viper. - :eng: :bat: Dennis Amiss
@Neptune - :wi: :bwl: Colin Croft
@mohsin7827 - :wi: :bat: Alvin Kallicharran

Alright, so one less RNG participant, although if "Croft" was posted publicly it'd be the same as last round mostly. Procter gets Hemantha, Icyman gets Bob Willis, TV gets Hogg, Perfect Square gets Bumble, Supreme gets Bandara, the rest of us get to go into the RNG, and nobody gets Clive Lloyd yet. Let's see how this shakes out...

@ddrap14 - :sri: :bwl: Ruchira Koshitha
1736331696549.png
An alright spinner. Not Clive Lloyd.

@Aislabie - :sri: :wl: Chanaka Komasaru
1736331772484.png
Into his 25th year of first-class cricket, I'd take Komasaru. 700 FC wickets don't grow on trees.

@Aravind. - :wi: :bat: Clive Lloyd
1736331827251.png
I tempted fate didn't I

@Paranoid Kendroid - :sri: :wkb: Leo Francisco
1736331909203.png
Wait, not him. The Sri Lankan who at least is a wicketkeeper.

@ahmedleo414 - :eng: :bat: John Whitehouse
1736331963583.png
Whitehouse was DEFINITELY more suited to the first class game, but a handy selection here over some of the Sri Lankan options. Good catcher and occasional spinner too

@Viper. - :eng: :bat: David Smith
1736332048332.png
Sorry, Viper, but this is the thoroughly ordinary batsman, not the two-time England international all-rounder.

@Neptune - :eng: :bwl: Steve Perryman
1736332123739.png
Speaking of confusing identity, this is not the Tottenham Hotspur footballer of the same era - rather, a horse-for-course County "quick".

@mohsin7827 - :eng: :bat: Harry Pilling
1736332177401.png
NGL, my writeup would be the same here as it would be about Whitehouse except without the spin.

Round 3 Matches
You can pick from either...

Nottinghamshire vs Worcestershire, 1991
1736332253362.png

or
Nottinghamshire vs Lancashire, 1973
1736332289016.png

Clive and David Lloyd and Harry Pilling are all taken.

This is genuinely a mind boggler of a draft. You just cannot pick the best player or best 3 players cause everyone will pick them. So you pick someone else. But other players will think the same way in their head and pick the lowkey guys. So does that mean you can pick the best players? What if other players think of this and then pick the best player. It’s a paradox

It all comes down to strategy thus… you can still pick the best guy n just hope the rng gets a good pick, and if everyone in the game except one guy is mid, might asw try your chance at the best guy n otherwise let rng decide . But if a lot of big names r there, there’s the strategy and high number of luck of picking a guy that no one else would, maybe the 5th or 6th biggest name, but again what if others think the same way.. it’s all so crazy it’s amazing

the way i do it is i check which names i know and pick one off vibes. saves you a lot of stress, and your chances of success dont take a hit. in the later stages however it will be a lot easier to predict who other people will go for, based on the gaps they have in their team

in short it’s just a contest of trying to match the unpopular opinion. So Its a paradox as if everyone matches an unpopular opinion it’s now popular. Same logic I guess

Alright, here's the list of people's picks:

@ddrap14 - :wi: :ar: Garry Sobers
@Aislabie - :wi: :ar: Franklyn Stephenson
@Aravind. - :ind: :wkb: Farokh Engineer
@pillowprocter - :wi: :ar: Garry Sobers
@Paranoid Kendroid - :eng: :bwl: Phil Newport
@icyman - :aus: :ar: Tom Moody
@Till Valhalla - :aus: :ar: Tom Moody
@Perfect Square - :eng: :ar: Richard Illingworth
@ahmedleo414 - :wi: :ar: Garry Sobers
@Supreme General - :eng: :ar: Ian Botham
@Viper. - :eng: :ar: Ian Botham
@Neptune - :aus: :ar: Tom Moody
@mohsin7827 - :wi: :ar: Garry Sobers

It's a funny draft where Tom Moody gets more calls than Ian Botham. So, Aislabie gets burgles Franklyn Stephenson, Aravind gets Engineer, KEndroid gets Newport, Perfect Square gets Illingworth, and everyone else goes to the lottery.

@ddrap14 - :eng: :bat: Mike "Pasty" Harris
1736455340759.png
Wait, an actually decent RNG player for me? Pasty was not as good at LO as he was at FC, but pretty decent at both.

@pillowprocter - :eng: :bwl: David Hughes
1736455556956.png
Hughes was a very solid bowler and a good lower order batsman. Very handy if not Sobers.

@icyman - :eng: :wkb: Bruce French
1736455619419.png
French wasn't good with the bat, but he was a brilliant wicket keeper who's an asset that way.

@Till Valhalla - :eng: :bwl: Chris Tolley
1736455755122.png
Kind of like David Hughes but worse.

@ahmedleo414 - :eng: :bat: Basher Hassan
1736455817696.png
Hassan would be an elite international for Kenya. As it was, they weren't ever available for there, and he's instead an okay batsman and occasional wicketkeeper.

@Supreme General - :eng: :bwl: Bill Taylor
1736456310477.png
Lots of decent seamers today; Taylor is another of those.

@Viper. - :eng: :bat: Graeme Hick
1736456353831.png
That actually kinda worked out in the end ngl

@Neptune - :eng: :bat: Paul Pollard
1736456418851.png
Pollard is a batsman who was slightly better in LO games, actually, so that's a little positive.

@mohsin7827 - uh, :wi: :ar: Garry Sobers
1736456495516.png
:noway

Round 4 Matches
You can pick from either...

Nottinghamshire vs Northamptonshire, 2005 (do Nottinghamshire ever go away?)
1736456608051.png

or
Western Province vs Eastern Province, 1990/91
1736456656410.png
