Commentary Thread

I am really concerned now , my batsman have been dried off runs suddenly. A guy called yuvraj ahmed is bowling ver tight. It may go upto the last over now. R.R has gone upto 5

It's pretty easy to chase 270 odd totals. The guy you are playing is probably another noob or a bot.

Can't underestimate him. saw his squad before the match , had some very good players. Some with truckloads of experience as well. I am still anxiuos , if i loose from here i'll be very dissapointed

39.1 W Malik to Salahuddin
Salahuddin charged towards Malik like a rhino on heat, only to miss the ball and have Paki whip off his stumps. Out!
I loose the century maker. Maybe it was good because he was looking tired a bit. Now a chance for the other new players to show some finishing skill. Mind you all are 17 except my first wicket Padachiye

Well just going by his batting usually you would expect 300 odd against a new team and if he was to be any hope that's what he needed batting first.

41.1 W Ahmed to Jennings
Jennings has mistimed his shot and Ahmed and Paki are appealing! The umpire seems to be nodding, and he's out - leg before wicket!
Captain gone. Seconed last batsman to come in. Need 4 an over from here. Thrope still not out on 66

End of Over 42: 220-3, runrate=5.24, reqrunrate=4.00 (251-7)
Ahmed 9-3-14-1
Thorpe* 71 (99 balls)
Hamed 2 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Jennings lbw b. Ahmed 10 (FOW: 216/3)
Very tight stuff from the opposition . no boundaries for the last 6 overs.

Batting first against a rubbish bot, aiming for 400. Gilroy and Stiles opening on attacking, if they don't both make hundreds I'll be very surprised.

End of Over 45: 237-3, runrate=5.27, reqrunrate=3.00 (251-7)
Ghandi 8-0-42-1
Thorpe* 81 (110 balls)
Hamed 9 (9 balls)

Last Wicket: Jennings lbw b. Ahmed 10 (FOW: 216/3)
Now 3 per over required with one attacking batsman to come. It's very intresting.

0.6 4 Loxley to Stiles
Climbs into it and lofts it to the mid wicket boundary.

1.6 6 Hutchinson to Gilroy
Gilroy with a great, huge shot. Out of the ground! Not four, but six runs.

2.1 6 Loxley to Stiles
Stiles romps down the wicket and spanks that one out of the ground!!!!

2.3 4 Loxley to Gilroy
Shot!!!! Timed to perfection, four runs.

End of Over 3: 35-0, runrate=11.67
Loxley 2-0-22-0
Stiles* 15 (10 balls)
Gilroy 19 (9 balls)

Not such a bad start :p

And that's the end of the match. Record Breakers won by 7 wickets.
Mangalagiri CC 251-7
Record Breakers 255-3
Won the match by a whopping 7 wickets!!!!. This is very morale boosting win. A great team effort. I would have loved to get them all out though.

9.4 6 Hutchinson to Gilroy
Amazing. Hit well over the stand and out into the car park. Take your hats off for Gilroy
And that's his fifty! Well played.

Gilroy 50 off 31 balls.

End of Over 10: 91-0, runrate=9.10
Hutchinson 5-0-44-0
Gilroy* 54 (33 balls)
Stiles 32 (28 balls)

Good first 10.

End of Over 23: 177-0, runrate=7.70
Challinor 5-0-40-0
Stiles* 65 (59 balls)
Gilroy 101 (80 balls)

22.6 6 Challinor to Gilroy
Whoooooa! Gilroy has rocked onto the back foot and launched that high into the air, over the stands and right out of the ground! That cricket ball is probably in orbit by now!
And that's a century for Gilroy! Well played indeed Sir!

Gilroy brought up his 50 with a six, does the same for his hundred - pretty unique double. Only 80 balls, room for 200 if he keeps going like this.

31.3 1 Marsden to Stiles
Driven back to the bowler. Marsden collects it and flings it back at the stumps. No one was backing up and the batsmen steal an overthrow. Sloppy stuff.
And that's a century for Stiles! Well played indeed Sir!

Stiles with his hundred, only marginally slower than Glroy's in terms of balls faced. My prediction was right, so here's another one: Alder to get 5 wickets.

End of Over 33: 253-0, runrate=7.67
Challinor 10-0-80-0
Stiles* 105 (88 balls)
Gilroy 137 (111 balls)

Challinor's finshed after taking a bit of a beating. I want 400 here, so I need to accelerate a little before going mad in the last 10.

36.2 2 Cock to Gilroy
A well placed stroke and Gilroy collects two runs.
Thats his 150. A fine knock.

Gilroy fails to make it 3 milestones with a six. Shame, but a fine knock nonetheless. Getting close to the highest score ever for my side, which (I think) is Stiles with 156.

End of Over 40: 303-0, runrate=7.58
Marsden 10-0-67-0
Stiles* 132 (108 balls)
Gilroy 159 (133 balls)

Into the last 10, 400 looking unlikely, but you never know with Battrick. It's been a good performance either way, and surely my highest partnership.

44.4 1 Hutchinson to Stiles
Solid stroke to long off, Kent doing the fielding.
Thats his 150. A fine knock.

Stiles 150 as well.

End of Over 45: 345-0, runrate=7.67
Hutchinson 8-0-70-0
Gilroy* 182 (149 balls)
Stiles 150 (122 balls)

11 an over required for 400, so still possible. Hoping for a Gilroy 200.

48.4 W Hutchinson to Gilroy
The only thing the ball was missing was the bat.

Gone for 195, gutted :( Beat his previous best by just 1.

End of Over 50: 382-2, runrate=7.64
Loxley 10-0-79-1
Mason* 6 (3 balls)
Stiles 167 (136 balls)

My highest total, just.

0.5 W Alder to Benjamin
He's got a thick edge, and the ball carries through to Basson, who makes what could be his easiest catch of the day

One down.

0.5 W Alder to Benjamin
He's got a thick edge, and the ball carries through to Basson, who makes what could be his easiest catch of the day

2.6 W Alder to Otsemobor
He's out. Good bowling, Alder, very good bowling indeed.

4.3 W Alder to Pearson
He's played all around that and it's poles everywhere!

6.5 W Alder to Silverwood
A swing and a miss. Clean bowled.

10.3 W Alder to Cock
That's a classy looking drive with one major problem, he missed the ball. The clatter of the ball hitting the stumps confirms his departure.

There we go, Alder's 5, also as predicted. Also one for Otto:

5.1 W Otto to Kent
Drives on the up...oh my goodness, he's hit it straight to mid off. Kent has just thrown his wicket away and doesn't he know it!

13.5 W Stone to Loxley
The faintest of edges! Stone's consistancy has paid off!
13.4 W Stone to Hutchinson
Ohh and Hutchinson has been caught short of his ground here. Splendid throw by Stiles, Hutchinson looks back at his partner in disgust. He has every right to be upset, terrible call.
13.3 . Stone to Hutchinson
On the back foot, stroked to the off, cover fielding.
13.2 . Stone to Hutchinson
Oh dear, Hutchinson has ended up whacking himself on the leg there. That one really had the batsman bamboozled.
13.1 W Stone to Gloster
That's turned, straightened, and hits Gloster halfway up the front pad. Stone appeals and the umpire gives him out.

Stone finishes it off.

And that's the end of the match. Old Wulfs won by 343 runs.
Old Wulfs 382-2
Dover 39-10

4 MOTM candidates: Gilroy 195, Stiles 167*, Alder 5-19 and Stone 3-5. Nice start to the season.
