Frankly i have never seen any indian team doing this farewell to any aussie player. I rememebr when Steve waugh retired, Gaunguly's face was like a red blood when Steve was getting applauses and standing aviation . Look at England they gave farewell to Langer,glenn and warnes during 2006 ASHES .
Maybe they didn't know that it was Gilly's last match. I mean, it'd be pretty pompous to assume at the time that Gilchrist got out that India were going to win. If Aussie would've won, there would still be one match left. I think this is why they didn't.
