What an excuse, a legend is retiring and everyone has forgot that . They will sue this excuse later on infornt of media if they have been asked . Frankly i have never seen any indian team doing this farewell to any aussie player. I rememebr when Steve waugh retired, Gaunguly's face was like a red blood when Steve was getting applauses and standing aviation . Look at England they gave farewell to Langer, glenn and warnes during 2006 ASHES .

Maybe they didn't know that it was Gilly's last match. I mean, it'd be pretty pompous to assume at the time that Gilchrist got out that India were going to win. If Aussie would've won, there would still be one match left. I think this is why they didn't.

Also dont forget Dhonis captaincy.

He brang on bowlers at the right time.
He had the guts to bring new players into the finals series and they didnt let him down.
He has also batted extremely sensibly and performed well.

As for pontings captaincy :noway
Bracken had bowled 5 overs for about 12 runs and wasnt brought back early enough to finish all 10 STUPID.
Hopes also bowled well an didnt go for too many and didnt get a chance to bowl all 10 STUPID
Lee who hasnt been bowling well last few games and had gone for a few runs replaced hopes so lee could finish his 10 overs an he got spanked STUPID

Congrats India, the best of Englads whipping boys. Andrew Symonds you made my day :D Doubt this will affect Australia tbh, they lot to England and they only went unbeaten through the world cup. When it comes down to it there still the best no matter what the rankings say although I think the gaps closing.

Yeah certainly the gap is closing.I think the other teams will now take a lesson and wont fear australia. They are beatable.Even Sri Lanka proved that. Its becoz of their own mistake they lost few matches.Otherwise this australian team is not exceptional they are beatable.

excellent win by india !! winning the finals 2-0 against the aussies
is a great achievement !! HATS OFF !! :hpraise

in my books, if tendulkar hadnt played the two finals.......
india would have easily lost.......!! He was the calming factor
among the dressing room...single handedly took the game
away from the opposition in the 1st final and set it up
beautifully in the 2nd one.....!!

dhoni has done a good job but i wont praise him too much !
hes yet to be tested under the "TEST" conditions ;)
plus, i somehow feel he always has a dig at the seniors
whenever he gets an opportunity......

oh and on another note :

anyone else think Mohammad Kaif should be given a look-in
again ?? has a cool head, excellent captain, fantastic fielder,
lot of experience etc....

what say ?? :)

Now I hope the selectors finally look to youth and start dropping players that aren't performing. Our bowling is in serious need of a swing bowler, this isn't the first series where the opposition bowlers have made our bowlers look like school boys.
