Commonwealth Bank Series (Australia, India, Sri Lanka)

I need a break from this tour now, but I wouldnt mind another tour like this. All the controversies made us defend our own teams like our 'own family'. It was a roller coaster ride. But I need a break from all this now, and we have it for an indefinite period of time.

I would. Looking around Youtube comments and such, this has really strained the relations between India and Australia as country's as whole.

Plus it was quite tiring lol!

I think cricket should be the way to attach two countries or two different group of peoples..Well its not matter about You tube but its matter about Unity and respect..We all know this series never meant only win or lose to both the teams..We have seen all the controversy throughout the summer..And cricket is never made for that..There has been lack of sportsman spirit throughout the summer..
Cricket should be bridge between two cultures..Cricket never tells to fight..And whoever fight because of cricket,,Either they don't respect the cricket or they looks stupid..

I dont think its panic stations for us...though our batting was incredibly dismal throughout the series. I dont think it necessarily means much, once Ponting, Symonds and Clarke have a rest and get back into some half-decent form we will be a force again. Backed up by Bracken and Lee, and there are some talented young quicks coming out of Tassie (hilf, geeves & drew) plus bollinger from NSW and Magoffin and Edmondson from WA, fast bowling reserves are rich. Haddin will adequately replace gilly but i want to see Ronchi play personally.

Ya definitely Aussis bowlers have set such a high standard for their bowling..And they were no near of that..But I think Batting was far a bit disappointing then their bowling..I think this part of the game..Cricket is always about how you apply yourself on ground..
Yes, definitely the batting was a major disappointment. That's not to detract from the quality of the Indian attack, I think they're really finding their feet in the fast bowling stakes. Nevertheless I don't think our batsmen, starting with Ponting, really did enough in the series. I was pleased to see Johnson develop further and he is repaying the faith of the selectors. Australia now needs another spinner. That will be a difficult task as the quality isn't apparent. I think it was also a fine way fro Tendulkar to say farewell to Australia with two good knocks ine the one-day finals.
Its a shame we have to wait for a while before Australia goes over to India for a Test series. They'll be good matches.

Such a shame Bollinger has lost his way in the OD game, he would have been my pick with Hilfy but hes dropped a fair way in the queue.
I would go Ronchi if he was a bit more consistent but I've been waiting 2-3 seasons for that to happen and I'm still waiting.

I think that the batting lineup needs a shakeup of sorts. No more Gilly for me means the need to find a new specialist opener as well as a keeper. Hopes didn't do enough as an opener. I think it's time to reconsider Jaques, despite his fielding.

Jaques is a specialists in test match, How about Rojers step in ?

How would you go about getting Jaques in though? Haddin will take the free spot left by Gilly so that would mean someone else needs to be dropped. Watson in for Hopes would fix the opening problem but don't trust in his bowling.

Australia were beaten by a worse team then India last year in the final. They'll be glad it's over. Bum games. I think being too long does that. India peaked at the right time and Australia fell away.

Australia was crap throughout the CB Series. It was their bowling and inability of opposition batting at crucial stages that they were winning. The 2 matches they won off India were not easy victories either. They had to fight for it. Therefore I dont think Australia fell away.

I think cricket should be the way to attach two countries or two different group of peoples.

Look at your sign. :rtfl Why are you not banned :p

I think Haddin is more reliable batter than Gilly. He can bat at number 5 position which Roy is blocking these days. Also Hussey is wasted that low in batting order. He can open the innings once Hayden call quits.

James Hopes is honest cricketer and you need bloke like these in sides. Watson is more of hit or miss.

Where is David Hussey?

After the end of the CB Series, i have come to the conclusion that India out-played Australia right through the entire summer.

1st Test:
A fresh India had no clue and lost the Test very very badly. They did not adapt themselves to the conditions quickyl and hence played the price.

2nd Test :
The less i say about this the better it is.India lost more due to others error than their players errors.

3rd Test:
THe most terrific fightbakco ne has ever seen. And for this to come at Perth is no mean feat. The Aussies were outclassed and were shocked.

4th Test:
The Indians continued thier good form here as well. This was a good contest and obviously the Aussies wer eunder pressure to win or to draw the match.

T20i:
A very poor performance by the Indian team.MAybe the tag of World ChaMpions had its effect.

CB-Series.
The team played 8 matche sin the lead up to the finals.

In the matches against Aus,the first was washed out,but we had them in a lot of trouble and also D/L favored us.The second ODI,we won pretty convincingly.
The third one was where our batting let us down. And the fourth was where the batting struck gold.

Overall
Played-10
Won- - 5
Lost -3
No Rl - 2

A good performance by the team and it showed that we could stand up in the worst of times.
