Yea we lost , dosn't matter , we dont bother this types of small events .

Hehehe...I'm sure Ponting would say exactly the same thing eh?

They got Hussey out for Zero!!

Seeing is believing!

This series reminds me of the two India-Australia series in 1998. In the series played in India, we won all the preliminary round games, but the Aussies won the finals and took the series. In the series played in Sharjah, the Aussies won the preliminary round games, and India won the finals!

Anyways, England deserved to win. They looked a very good side, especially in the second half of the competition. They'll be glad to go back home after such a long tour!

England will now fancy their chances in the WC big time. They have found the form just at the right moment.

What better than beating Australia in Australia before the WC?

too true. thats what every team would want before the world cup. obviously the 7 losses and the ashes series are minor details ;) if we pick plunkett over lewis i think we will do it

The 7 ODI losses maybe but wounds suffered in the Ashes whitewash will remain till England regain it in 2009. But right now the most important thing is the WC so I am sure they wont be bothered by it.

Let see if australia can work out now with the mistakes . :(

Thats so unfair. i know it will sound like sour grapes, so dont bother telling me, but england simply do not deserve this trophy. they plaed some of the worst cicket i have seen, and the world has seen. take the two adelaide matches, 120 and 110, and then they go on and win it. Australia outplayd them on almost every occasion, and only 60 overs in teh first final, and then this match and they have won the first ever CB Trophy. atleast they didnt win off there own bat, and it was abandoned, which should hopefully take soe of it away from england.

this was bound to happened. Australia playing brilliant cricket all summer long, it HAD to go pear shaped at some point. England played absolutely rubbish all summer long, they get a break n the finals. disgusting.

Thanks for the congratulations.

I think you'll find we were very good in half of the ODIs we played. 10 ODIs, 5 wins. That's a great return for England.

No doubt though that we didn't deserve it, quite clearly Australia were the best even in the last 3 games vs England in which even their own captain admitted that they were the best team.

Absolute stunning catch by Dalrymple. Aus. had a chance but now its very difficult.

He seemed to hang in mid air, very important catch.

JDs been a bit indifferent in this series, I wouldn't say he's been shocking but he's been one of our worst players imo. On the small Carribean grounds we might not/shouldn't play to spinners.

Hmmm...

I'd agree Sureshot that JD has in a way surprised me. I felt before the series that his bowling looked like it could do a job, whilst his batting looked weak. Since then though I've felt far more confident in his batting, and less confident in his bowling. I feel Bopara might offer more, but since JD has that bit more experience he'll probably start.

If the wickets are at all slow and low, a second spinner could be useful.

if this group of young players needed anything to inspire their careers then not being remember as the whitewashed team is it

All these wickets for Plunkett are masking the fact that he's been wayward on the whole today. If he keeps gifting boundaries to the batsmen like this then he's going to make the victory a cakewalk from here. I honestly can't see England winning this game; They are in that mood were they think the game is already in the bag when in fact, Australia are favourites.

Who says reverse-psychology doesn't work?

We were brilliant throughout the finals and we completely outplayed Australia for the first time in the tour. Nevertheless, this is just a meaningless ODI trophy and i'd happily swap it for a victory in one of the Test matches earlier in the winter.

Nice to see a small portion of Aussie users are as gracious in defeat as ever.

Except the ones in whites.

That pretty much sums up my feelings. So what if we won a ODI series; It's nice to put one over on the Aussies but we were hammered in the part of the tour that isn't meaningless.

I'd probably rather won this than lose 4-0 or 4-1 in the tests. I'd have 3-2 in the test over this though :p.
