I can have a look, but tbh I have no special knowledge I'd just be googling same as you :)

It's difficult because obviously the current SACB doesn't really recognise any of these games at competitions because they where under the auspices of the SACU
 
That is exactly the problem I found. But big SA legends as Allan Donald, Keller Wessels and even Rod McCurdy played in that era.
 
Yeah. I think you should be able to find scorecards containing team lists on cricinfo. Pictures with kits etc may be much harder
 
I am going to rope in a few friends that is off work today to search for that elusive picture. I just need 1. Because all of the uniforms were the same, it was just different colours.
 
Aim for when Patch 2 happens, recreate Botham's ashes with the whole retro feel, just as the game will actually work for test matches with the stamina being fixed
 
@blockerdave I deployed 2 friends yesterday to get pictures of the 1980s Benson & Hedges night cricket in South Africa. But apparently growing up in the 1980s in South Africa my watching cricket childhood was all part of my imagination. They have obviously banned all pictures of my hero's playing. So I think that is how far that idea of mine will go.:noway

yep... i meant to say i did a fair bit of googling yesterday on this. tried several variations of search term. about the most i have ever googled anything non-pornographic in my life. got nothing.

i saw one kit pattern that kept being repeated, but they were always international teams. shall we say, some of them at a glance were obviously not 1980s south africa ;)

I managed to find all the RESULTS of the matches online, but not a single pic.

I know it was Apartheid time and all that, but you'd think someone would have pictures or old video.

Has anyone thought of asking a SA TV station if they have anything?
