Story County Cricket: HAMPSHIRE V NOTTS POSTED! - Up Next: Yorkshire V Scotland

nice stuff...excellent pres but notts got absolutely destroyed!!

Unlucky for Solanki ~ out in the 90's.....TWICE!
But man, did they get a flogging:p Well played Worcestershire.

WTF?! They didnt even bowl Monty!

Great win for me . Solanki was brilliant with the bat but unlucky to get out twice in the 90's. Hick was good with the bat as well. Zaheer continued his superb form and good support from Kabir Ali and Vaas. Nice presentation mate :)

:( Im starting to get a little impatient here! Where is this match!? Im starting to think this isnt happening anymore?!

Sussex won the toss on a green pitch and took a gamble to bat first but they managed to survive the opening session and from then on things got easier. In the end they managed to post 321 on a pitch which was assisting the bowlers. Adams the captain top scored with 65 while Goodwin and Matt Prior also hit half centuries to help Sussex get some bonus points. Leicestershire bowled reasonably well with the top man being Kiwi Shane Bond who took three wickets. Brett Lee and Snap took two each while Stuart Broad took one. Leicestershire needed to match the innings of Sussex to stay in the game.

REPORT
Leicestershire batted to the worse of their capabilities to prove that this pitch wasn't easy to bat on. Only six men reached double figures and three were tail enders. At one point Leicestershire were 81/8 but they managed to get to 118 to spare their bluishes a little but the Sussex captain Adams was still going to make the Foxes follow on. The top scorer was Sadler with just 17 which tells you how bad their batting performance was. Sussex on the other hand will be delighted with their bowling display. Shoaib Akhtar took three wickets as did Cottey the spinner. Kirtley and Lewry also took wickets meaning overall Sussex were delighted with their performance so far in the match.

REPORT
Leicestershire improved on their first innings effort but it simply wasn't good enough as this time they were bowled out for 271 with a day and a half remaining. They had only set Sussex a target of 69 runs to win. This time the top six batsmen got twenty runs or more but nobody went on and got a big score. In fact the only man to hit a half century was captain and Aussie Ricky Ponting. Overall they were disappointing with the bat. Sussex bowled well again with Shoaib Akhtar performing brilliantly again. He picked up four wickets this time while Kirtley got three and Lewry two. Cottey managed none this time around but Sussex would surely reach their target of 69 easily?

REPORT
Sussex wrapped up a comprehensive victory by getting the 69 runs for the loss of just one wicket. The unlucky man to go was Sehwag who was bowled by Shane Bond. Ward ended on 34 not out and Murray Goodwin ended on 28 not out. Overall Sussex dominated the match and deserved the win. Leicestershire used four bowlers but none could provide any other breakthroughs. Leicestershire will be disappointed with their display in the whole match.

The man of the match award went to Sussex paceman Shoaib Akhtar who troubled all the Leicestershire batsmen and took seven wickets in the two innings of the Foxes. Sussex will hope he can maintain this form and win many more matches for them.

LEICESTERSHIRE: 3 points
SUSSEX: 20 points
