Sunil Narine

md2nfdidgfb.jpg

Enigmatic right arm spinner, Sunil Narine, with his heart-throbbing performance in the fifth edition Indian Premier League and Big Bash League, forced the selectors of the Jamaican Cricket Association to sign him for the up-coming "Caribbean: CPLT20". From the nation like West Indies where fast bowler like Curtly Ambrose, Wesley Hall etc always ruled, he emerged with great difficulties. His lethal bowling spell will add plus one for the Jamaicans.

Are we following the order as per the list? If so, we need to wait for Jack Ryder to pick....Or is it first in best served?

The other thing to mention was that from what I read each franchise is going to have an icon player http://www.espncricinfo.com/westindies/content/story/604695.html In that case it's quite unlikely Chris Gayle would be available to Trinidad & Tobago - either he'd be Jamaica's icon player or he'd be distributed to a team that needs one (T & T have 3 players of the 6 mentioned as icon players - 1 would be kept and 2 given away to head up other franchises)
Shall we just ignore that icon player stuff? Or do we want it as 'real' as possible?

Well starting again wouldn't take much, and it would make much more sense to see Gayle playing for Jamaica - good news for you Akshay :p

They've already decided on the 6 icon players (see the link in my earlier post), so it's just a matter of choosing and distributing them appropriately in a draft. Could do it like this:

1 Akshay/Jamaica - choose Chris Gayle or Marlon Samuels as icon player

2 Simon/ T & T - choose either Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard or Sunil Narine as icon player

3 Jack Ryder/Guyana
4 Sifter/Antigua
5 T20Pro/Barbados - these picks of 3,4 & 5 would be from the 3 players that weren't picked at picks 1 and 2 eg. if Gayle and Bravo are the 2 picks, then these 3 picks must be Samuels or Pollard or Narine. No choice for pick 5, it's whoever is left.
Note: the 3 of us could be any order, i just followed the original order.

6 Author/St. Lucia - Darren Sammy. No choice, but at least you'll get 1st pick next round :yes

Then reverse the order for the 2nd round

7 Author/St. Lucia
8 T20Pro/Barbados
9 Sifter/Antigua
10 Jack Ryder/Guyana
11 Simon/ T & T
12 Akshay/Jamaica

And by Author's ordering it looks like it's his intent is to do the picks in order, not first in first served for each round. Although maybe that could happen in later WI rounds when the gap in talent is smaller and we might be wanting the draft to move faster.

Excellent suggestions from Sifter there. I think I'll go with that, I'll just need a second to fix up the draft form. Anyhow, Ashkay, it's not first come first serve, else why would I have put the draft in an order?

----------

Apologies for the disorganisation, but the changes have been made due to Sifter's valid point about the Icon players. To keep things realistic, I have also added in one extra overseas player, although you will only be able to pick four of them in your final eleven.

DARREN SAMMY

Darren Julius Garvey Sammy has lived a cricketing life that suggests he is the chosen one. The first St. Lucian to play Test Cricket, the wholehearted all-rounder took a spectacular seven wicket haul on debut. Despite nothing about his cricket suggesting an outstanding amount of talent, he managed to keep hold of his Test place for long enough that when a leadership vacuum appeared, he was the one to fill it. He has since shaped the West Indies into nothing less than the Twenty20 Champions of the world, and has had a part in it with his hard hitting and canny bowling.

Gayle Strom
Royal Challenger B'lore's explosive opener, Christopher Henry Gayle a thrusting left-handed batsman has been signed by the Jamaican Cricket Association. The Jamaican icon slaughtered every bowler not only in IPL but did the same in BBL too. One of the best batsman of our times of this format, will be playing for Jamaica after a dispute with the West Indies Cricket board. His volatile style can't exhaust spectators. Surely pressure would be more, playing for the home but people would love him as he his back!

^Can't go wrong with Chris Gayle - the #1 player in the T20 game in my view. Although I will pick you up on your BBL comment - he had a lean BBL this year. Found on his stat page that he averages 58 for RCB! The Home of CricketArchive

Waiting eagerly to see who Jack Ryder leaves me...:yes

Actually I saw him making a ton in BBL but didn't refer to his stats thinking. He might've played well throughout the tourney :p
