Ross Taylor

Luteru Ross Poutoa Lote Taylor, the right Handed Kiwi Batsman is considered one of the best Middle order batsman in the world. His sense of responsibility and love towards cricket make him best at his game. He can play any role according to the teams requirement. The Kiwi legend surely would face more pressure as playing with not only Mahendra Singh Dhoni but also Christopher Henry Gayle but people would love to seem him adding stars too CPL.

Jason, I'll sue you for my table format. Thats my copyright! :p

Nice easy picks so far. Come Round 7 and the draft will be far more interesting.

You are quite correct! Found the template saved on my computer when I was looking for the stuff I'd done for the last T20 draft. Now I remember where it came from :yes

And also correct about round 7. I think it's impossible to plan ahead really because once the better WI players are gone, I think they last few WI rounds will almost be random selections based on who catches the eye and who fits in with the holes left in the squad. Will be interesting indeed!

One of the rules was no players in Ashes contention...

Just to clarify...only English players to be ignored right? If I picked an Aussie in Ashes reckoning he would miss this years tournament, but would be able to play in all the other years. Some might be good enough to be worth that cost of missing a year. Or were you intending to take Aussies out of the picture too and make sure all the 5 internationals can play?

Was also thinking about Sri Lankan players...is the SLPL going to be in August again this year? Or has it been postponed because they can't pay players? Google is not helping me :( If SLPL is on again, I imagine all the SL players will play there instead.

Oh and some nice picks guys :clap MS Dhoni in particular is a good one, such a good batsman and covers the keeping too

My pick yes? Jack's had plenty of time

Saeed Ajmal

Format | Matches | Wickets | Average | Economy | Strikerate | BB T20I | 51 | 71 | 16.59 | 6.26 | 15.88 | 4/19 T20 | 109 | 155 | 16.27 | 6.32 | 15.43 | 4/14

Ajmal has become one of the leading bowlers in the game, and that mastery of his art has extended to T20 as well. In the last couple of years, Ajmal has played T20 all over the place: England (Worcestershire); Bangladesh (Dhaka Gladiators); Sri Lanka (Kandurata Warriors); Australia (Adelaide Strikers); and of course in Pakistan with Faisalabad Wolves. In that time he's taken 67 T20 wickets, averaging 15.64, with 5.97 economy, making him one of the most productive bowlers around. That's without even mentioning his Test and ODI performances which have seen him take more international wickets than any other bowler in the last 2 years, and at a better average than his main rivals for that title Most international wickets since April 16, 2011

Ajmal's mastery of flight, speed and his well timed variations make him a difficult bowler to get on top of in T20 cricket. The number of batsmen who've successfully ruined his figures in a T20 game could probably be counted on just one hand (one notable example in the 2010 World T20 semi-final...) Comfortable bowling at the start or end of an innings, he'll be a great bowler to turn to for Antigua in any situation.

I'm going to pick two more bowling options, including the big hitting Thisara Perera. Will do the writeups on Thursday or Friday I expect, seriously busy few days coming up.

It's intriguing to me why Kevon Cooper hasn't played for the West Indies yet. It made me overlook him on my initial search for WI players to draft. What's the story? Has he annoyed the board or selectors?

Mahender Singh Dhoni
