Cricket 19 General Discussion

Having the so called boring option of selecting the delivery type actually makes the game more fun and challenging, I mean Ashes cricket and cricket 19 is a cricket simulation after all and only having the option of moving the circle pitch marker around can for me become quite repetitive and boring in itself and dare I say it too easy.
I like having the option of being able to choose what type of ball I want to bowl, whether it be an inswinger or an outswinger, which is then matched with a Yorker or a short placed delivery not to mention being able to choose the pace of the ball. Furthermore to that point having to time the ball, as timing plays a big part in where the ball ends up landing. You always have to get your timing in the right spot so your ball lands in the right areas, just like in real cricket, which again makes it fun and challenging.
This is a simulation after all but I agree yes we still want it to be easy to pick up and play but at the same time it also has to be hard to master at times too.

Maybe they could add extra control system, an easier way for bowling where there is less thought needed when bowling, but for me personally that would take away from the simulation aspect of the game and what makes the game great.
I get your point. I guess that moving that circle brings up alot of nostalgia from the 90's for me.

From my interactions with these threads I have figured out that people's perceptions of what a perfect cricket game is can be quite different and that's why it is really difficult to create the perfect game.

I will credit bigant for adding alot of different options and sliders etc to cater for these different views of opinion.

Another suggestion that I have is that it would be great if the AI system can judge the shot and distance from a fielder and run automatically when the player (mostly in career mode) is controlling only their career player and batting with an AI partner.

On that note it might be cool if we can only control 1 player outside of career mode, maybe as an option. Cheers guys.

Ok

I am sorry
No need to apologise. You are just excited about a new cricket game releasing like we all are. We as a community are just lucky to have someone like Matt sharing with us what information he can about the game.

I wonder if we can add Kamindu Mendis to the game, bowling both left and right arm off spin at the same time?

One way to stop players using 220 cm created players is to reduce their fielding skills and running effectiveness.

They should be slow to pick up and throw balls while fielding, also while running they should be slow to turn back for the second run.

Anyone above 6"3 their fielding and running attributes should slowly reduce and should be worse when they hit 7"0 height.

It's just a suggestion not sure it can be implemented, please don't crucify me if your view point doesn't match with this.

People created 220 cm players for fast running and catching balls that go high over the boundary. This can be countered with the suggestion above.

I wonder whether we would have option to have the collar up or down in academy , would make a mean looking player for career with neck tattoos, head tattoos if possible and make them bat with sunglasses without helmet...;)

What's everyone hoping for from the "concentrated bowling strategy."
I was wondering the same. I presume AI (while bowling) set field according to batsman’s weakness (hopefully no vacant point positions), maybe set 7-2 offside field and bowl on the offside forcing human teams to take risk while scoring runs.

In terms of batting, with improved AI, @MattW can v expect dynamic batting order from AI (sending attacking/brute batsman ahead of more defensive batsman towards the end of innings)

When Mattw gonna share the feature list or just a tiny bit of info??
Only Matt himself can decide that.

I'm pretty sure you asking isn't going to change anything though. Maybe try discussing the game instead?
