Cricket 19 General Discussion

Does anyone think that something like playstion VR would be a good option for Pro Cam on Ashes and Cricket 19?. Might be a cool immersive experience? What do you guys think?
Absolutely

Yes, I believe a cricket game would work well on PlayStation VR if done right. Would expect something like this to be put on hold for now though. Something for Big Ant to possibly work on after Cricket 19 has been released and any needed patches pushed out.

Hi @MattW
Is it possible to share any sample face for play face so that people can meanwhile start creating faces of real cricketers using it?

Thinking & wishing, if they could bring out TV style presentation like we have in FIFA & PES with overlays & the Broadcast style camera angle (similar to the one in Ashes 2009)...The current running Broadcast 1 camera while batting shows from the thirdman region (as if like a spider cam)...

Whereas in reality, in an actual TV broadcast as we see....more often than not the same camera (current Batting broadcast 1 or 2) continues to track the ball after it is hit & zooms in & out on onto the ball wherever it travels on the field...

In running broadcast 2 camera the camera tracks the lofted shot only to a certain height rather than actually pan upwards towards the ball lofted very high in the air & later simply ends near the boundary rope despite the Six hit being very long into the stadium...

In simple words the current running broadcast 1 & 2 cameras are really good but they just need some tweaks to match it closely to real TV style broadcasts (similar to the one in ASHES 2009 which was really good at tracking the ball after it was hit by the batsman anywhere in the field but the same Broadcast end camera i.e at the bowlers end tracks it but zooming in & out )

The Fixed far cameras ( from bowlers end) are a welcome addition which I love to use ( Till date I have always found satisfaction while batting with cameras from the bowlers end rather than behind the batsman in all cricket games...) are a welcome addition to the game from the old broadcast only days of DBC 14 & DBC 17...

Also in the Net practice the "pitch marker" is missing if we use Fixed far bowling camera while batting, which defeats the purpose of using nets for practicing or experimenting with sliders in the nets...Hope the correct the cameras as like in the actual match & make the net practice mode interesting like it was in DBC 14 days...

I hope they at least retain the current camera angles & tweak them as close as possible to actual TV style to make the game more immersive ( & atleast not remove any of the existing ones)...

Waiting eagerly with excitement for the new game with all the speculation , discussions & ideas in this great community forum...

@BigAntStudios @MattW

Cheers!

Nathan holding the red ball the ball colour is just great you can easily make out cricket 19 will be step forward.
But the pitches sometimes gets to bright and it becomes hard to pick the white ball for the batsman.
A slider for the brightness level for the pitch will be awesome.

On a further note, in respect of advancing shots, currently we have to premeditate for an advanced shot by pressing the LS which simply leaves little room for cancelling the move in case its not the optimal delivery to come down the track...( I do not know what others feel about the same)
If they could tweak it to make it more instantaneous (like for eg for ground shots we press both LT & RT or toggle based like pressing the RB for an advancing shot which can be clicked instantly as soon as we feel the delivery is appropriate for an advancing shot)....Something on those lines...I hope I could explain the point...

The idea is to make the advancing shots being least premeditative & more instantaneous based on the delivery...

On this note, @MattW can you tell us what made BA to opt for R3 controller for advancing shots, because DBC14 had perfect controls. I guess you can answer this since it’s nothing related to Cricket 19.

because DBC14 had perfect controls

I think, even in DBC 14 we had to premeditate to hit an advancing shot irrespective of whether the delivery was suitable for an advancing shot....

Ok this was deleted from the other thread: What if the acadamy was linked to an online cricket database like CRICINFO...... so when we create a player and give him a name -- a popup would come up, search in database.... you search for that player find the correct one and all his/her stats and demographic information (height birthdate etc etc) could be imported (you could also have the option of what to import here) so that all we need do is concentrate on the player face and kit. cheers (no idea if licencing would be a stmubling block to this though)

discuss....
