Cricket 19 General Discussion

Ok this was deleted from the other thread: What if the acadamy was linked to an online cricket database like CRICINFO...... so when we create a player and give him a name -- a popup would come up, search in database.... you search for that player find the correct one and all his/her stats and demographic information (height birthdate etc etc) could be imported (you could also have the option of what to import here) so that all we need do is concentrate on the player face and kit. cheers (no idea if licencing would be a stmubling block to this though)

discuss....
That would be really helpful and save a lot of time especially for me as I update stats of all the players in a team, every time I update a team. I'm a stats person, obsessed with stats. I think there would be a problem though as Big Ant would have to work out how to get the database information (sync) from ESPN to the game and they would alo likely require a license with ESPNCricinfo anyway.

There are other cricket databases out there --- or do they all use ESPN's database? cricbuzz ?

How did the game run on pc last year as I am hoping to pick it up on pc this year I will get it on ps4 as I have the other titles on my specs are Msi 1060 6gb Amd Ryzen 2600 And 8gb ram
It was not a very demanding game, an i3 with gtx 6 series graphics would've been enough to run the game last year. Im guessing you would be able to run the new title at max settings with ur current specs

Yeah there are, but I would assume that they (Big Ant) would then use ESPN as they are one of the better websites and have domestic and international stats for players while Cricbuzz say just have international player stats e.g. Test, ODI, T20I

I want access to TV broadcasters stats systems, that would make it easy. I know they have on location statisticians and databases are linked but that would be a cool one to have implemented.

I have Ashes on pc and Xbox one and must say that there is a huge difference in graphics. Pc of course the better graphics and running smoother. I haven’t got the greatest pc but still graphics beats Xbox one by far. I have g4560 processor and gtx 1050 2gb graphics card with 8gb of ram.

I think there should be a confusion meter in future titles. When AI chases a score and struggle to get runs, then the confusion meter fills. Meter should for example have a max value of say 5.0 and every dot ball or miss timed shot would fill the meter in increments of 0.1 or 0.2 or whatever the case. The fuller the meter the better the chances of run outs by confusion. Hope you guys understand what I’m trying to say. Don’t know how to explain it any better[DOUBLEPOST=1552291548][/DOUBLEPOST]The increments values would change in every format of the game. In tests the meter fills slower or by less increments and odi and t20 it would fill quicker.

We also have to do some research if you aren’t sure on a height. EG David Miller is listed at 191cm on google results and I know he isn’t that tall. Google image search any player you’re not sure of standing next to a player you know the height of and deduce from there is what I would say.
David Miller is 1.83

Funny you mention David Miller, I have seen him multiple times through a mutual acquaintance who happens to be an umpire in KZN. And he is probably the same height as me give or take, and I am 182. I just think sometimes it is easier to have one source for people to gauge from. There are multiple sites and they are generally all over the place. There is a sigt called starsunfolded.com that tends to have a lot of useful info sometimes but does not include everyone, mainly IPL stars.

Just a thought from a logo standpoint. Whether the creation method (with SVG) remains or changes I think it would be helpful for all if there was some way to see which logos are being used by which team/stadium/bat. Even if it couldn't go that far being able to see which logos are not being used at all would be helpful to delete in terms of managing logo space.
