Do you understand the term mugged off? It's slightly different to an actual mugging. The fielding has been atrocious in every game yet they've continued to squeeze the pips out of the game engine. Now they say oh fielding cant be fixed because we would have to basically create a new game. Funny how that is only mentioned now with what is probably the last game which uses this engine?

If they had been open about it after Ashes Cricket and said the fielding will always be awful as it is a limitation of the game engine then less people would buy the new game. To me, that is disingenuous and therefore we are being mugged off.

Seems like the only option is MPH and yards or KPH and metres. Cant mix and match to achieve a UK broadcast feel.

Easy now. I have actually emailed BA previously and never heard a peep back. I I think you are on to something though with BA placing feedback emails into junk folders.

I'm glad my comments get some of the fairies on here triggered. The way some people come to defend the game can only suggest they have links to the game/BA which is great. Hopefully means the message is reaching the right places and in a more effective way than an email ever will.

It is a fact that has at least been acknowledged by the developers. From what I have understood fielding is so tied up with core game mechanics that anything they do there effects the whole game in adverse ways so will require a complete overhaul in a next version. Whether they do manage that is still something that remains to be seen. There is a scope of tweaking a number of things but don't expect too much this time round.

It would be fantastic if they could get a alpha/beta team together in the design fase of these things rather than after the horse has bolted as it were.

The sad fact is , that over (4) Versions of the Game stretching 5 Years , Fielding is the one aspect that have received very little attention.

Yeah it seems as if they perhaps started with fielding and built everything around that thus scaffolding themselves in as it were with not a lot of room to move. I must admit that I had hoped for more innovation and improvement when I first fired up the beta. The fielding is by far the weakest part of the game in my opinion.

Why do a lot of players physiques look way off? Pattinson and Hazlewood look like midgets. I think this game really struggles with body shapes and heights.

I hope we see a patch for consoles in the coming days. Apparently there were a lot of builds on Steam the last few days. I will not lie I have no idea how builds on steam correlates to patches being released, especially since there is a PC version now but I am ever optimistic.

Yeah I wonder how many care about fielding away from us “hardcore” lovers. I’m not overly fussed by it so I’m sure the crash bang wallop crowd maybe arnt either and they prioritize batting and bowling.

But the wicketkeeper was never like this in dbc 14 , 17 and ashes he should only give 4 overthows and cricket 19 he goes off to sleep and allow the batsman to run 3 runs.

later on when I hit the preset button it was at points I accidentally had no slips I am a very logical cricketer just not at fields mainly why I couldn't be a captain in real life

Let the fielding be the way it is,its ok with me.
These 6 things fixed i am more than happy
1.Wicketkeeper goes off to sleep for few seconds before throwing the ball.
2.Dropped catches.
3.Non striker end run out bug.(online)
4.Rocket ball from the fast bowlers and the crossseam deliveries with1 gold and all silver perks.This is creating the unrealistic edges.(online)
5.Straight shots going lot in air.(online)
6.90% of wickets are edges to the keeper.

I think i dint ask a lot to fix these are minor fixes for a company creating games for so many years.

Classic for easy mode is good i dont need that fix i was just joking i never played a easy mode.

How about patching few more fielding perks with more agility,speed and fielding reflex.

Ground fielding was really good in dbc 17 only overthrows was the issue.
So the fact is there is no reason that it cant be fixed.

body shapes are definitely a bit off and look weird i feel something they definitely need to look into for next game,the scanned faces look amazing though.
