Cricket 19 General Discussion

How did it become full when I never downloaded any custom bats?

@MattW Why is there a limit on the number of bats to begin with?
Most likely because when you download custom teams, if the creator has attached a new custom bat to a player, it is downloaded with the team and is added to the custom bats.

I think it's to do with storage allowed by console Xbox/PS4/Switch. Every logo, saved match, career save, stadium etc will take up some space an I assume there's a limit on how much the console owners will allow for a game. Sadly, the same restrictions are applied to those of us on PC.

I could be wrong about all of that.

Well if that's the case then it's one more thing now that should be on their list to correct for the PC users.

Also, I never thanked you for your creations. You have done a great job mate!:clap

Yeah I generally bat pro mode too and this gives more of a sense of intuitively covering your stumps up more than when you can see yourself and the stumps as it were.
At the same time even if you don’t stand extremely wide of off or leg, the AI still don’t take adequate action against you playing the ball repeatedly in a certain gap especially leg side: the remedy for this is to make other aspects harder: ball speed, footwork influence and such like so that each ball will be harder to get away regardless of where you stand or what AI is doing. A roundabout way of coming to AI’s rescue but it does mean you have more of a challenge.
Ironically, Pro Mode helped me get rid of a really annoying dismissal from the spinner, caught behind to the keeper trying to play a cover drive (left handed batsman)! It does make it a lot of fun, plus in first class, turning off the score overlay hud, reduces the pressure and batting becomes more realistic.

Dear All, I am planning to buy Cricket 19 in PS4. Before buying, wanted your advice. It's pretty expensive still, even after all this time from the launch.

1. Is it worth it? I have limited time to play but would also like to introduce by son who is 7 and very interested in cricket to play this game. I was reading through the threads and see frustrations/mixed reviews.
2. What about online play? Is it seamless and do we have many online players?

Pls help. Btw, whenever I get time, I still play DBC 14 in PC with my cousin (online). :)

Thanks.

The game has some quirks, mainly AI but nothing game breaking. Most of the teams are done by now on the academy with playfaces, user created grounds are a mixed bag but that isn't anyone's fault, more the now limited stadium editor. I can't attest to online as I don't play others, just career mode. Overall, I think you'll see some pretty big gains gameplay wise from DBC 14, Cricket 19 is definitely more fluid in terms of batting and bowling.

I created a custom team with players and all. But when I select it while starting career, all players get replaced by random players. What am I missing?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I noticed that, while selecting/adding team in carreer setup screen, overall rating for my custom team shows up as 20 instead of the actual (70+) that I see in academy/play-now.
Anyone here who has been able to start a career with a custom team(and its players)?

You cannot do that -- the whole point of career mode is dynamic lineups, the players you created may be in the database and playing for other teams...would be nice to have a selection committee at the beginning of the season and pick your team (based on some picking rules) from the database of players ... an idea for future games?

I was able to do exactly this in Ashes 17 which also had dynamic lineups. It was real fun and surprise to meet some of my teammates playing for state, IPL and national teams when I got promoted to those teams/leagues.
e.g. When I got picked for my first IPL match, it had one of the fast bowlers from my custom team playing in the opposition and our WK in my team.
It'll be a shame if that feature has been taken out. It was a winner.

PLEASE can we have inner ring catches, outfield catches, more dismissal variation when bowling at the AI?

I am actually back to playing Ashes Cricket now, which is a far more interesting and authentic experience in my book.
