Cricket 2004 bugs list

Another bug is the meter bar which supposidely shows batsman's confidence for that innings.....

It is faulty. How can a guy who scored 9 off 51 have a full meter.....I don't really feel confidence should be gained because he defended ordinary balls unconvincingly.......

This is what I am talking about

nope... i use an MS Sidewinder Gamepad for playing the game, and I cannot set the field no matter what button I press or what key I use on the keyboard.

i think the yorker problem where the AI hits it for six all the time is a big bug, but consider it this way, if the AI couldn't hit it for six and they got bowled all the time like in Cricket 2002 u could get teams out for like 10 runs, so i think this is a deterant for bowling yorkers all the time. And the confidence meter is a joke, i bowled a batsman about 70 balls and he scored about 5 runs and it was full, if we were to do that, our confidence meter would still be on none.

I don't know if that confidence meter is a joke. If the batter bats for 70 balls, you must be feel pretty good about yourself to stay out there that long. Also the batter may be hitting all good strokes, in the middle of the bat, but the ball isn't getting past fielders. However, I don't think it should be totally full.

nah he didnt hit any shots all he did was block the ball basically, i know if i go in to bat, and i just block the ball for about 20 balls i dont fell like im in full form but i am a bit better. if the AI does block it for about 50/70 balls i think it should be about quarter full or a third

Hmm.... I haven't experienced batters getting their confidence up after facing lots of balls. I know one guy in one of my games faced almost 100 balls and he didn't have confidence. Maybe it's just a PC bug.

I bowled an over where the cpu was dropped twice, hit twice by bouncers and played and missed twice. His confidence increased presumeabl because he didn't actually get out...

The confidence meter should work on the bases of hitting boundaries and staying in. Every time the batsman hits a boundarie, his confidence meter should go up considerably. If he is dropped then his confidence meter should go up slightly or decrease slightly, depending on his score. I think EA should deal with this because we are the ones who have all ready picked up our big fat bums and tried to fix this game. It's time EA stood up and dealed with this junk.

I sort of disagree with confidence meter going up for boundaries. Obviously it should, but I would be happy if the confidence meter showed some consistency and went up wheneber you "middle it" whether you play a defensive stroke, hit it straight to a fielder, get 1 run or 4 runs... I know personally I always feel much more settled in my innings when I play my first defensive shot off of the middle of the bat. Whereas a team mate (he's a bit weird ;)) starts to feel at more at ease in his innings as soon as he middles a back foot drive... to each their own i guess. that would be a nice detailed touch, if the confidence meter took into account a players strengths, but as i said, i'd settle for it being consistent...

Yeah, there's another bug with it: when it reaches to the top it never comes down. That's unrealistic. Look at Herschelle Gibbs. He got out in the 2nd test playing a lazy and tired shot after passing 110. And before that particular delivery he was missing everything...which would seem like the empty confidence bar in c2004...but at a certain point after he crossed 30 he was really a full bar.

Also I agree with the middled defensive shot (like me because I'm the scratchy starter type)...the first 5 maybe but not the first 40 as in the case of score 9 off 51 and having a full bar.

I SICK and tired of this BUGGED out game. Im not even playing it anymore, whats the point, everything is up s**t creek!!

I couldn't have phrased better my feelings....I am certainly going to be following in bomber's path...anyone else?

If this 'patch' comes out, I might consider buying the PC version. At the moment I just have to put up with the bugs, but I don't think I'm suffering as badly as some of you guys! :D
