Cricket 2004 bugs list

sometimes the ball crosses the boundary and fielder still picks it up and throws it
the commentator says 4
and 4 runs r given
but the fielders dont think its 4:D :D

If this happens sometimes or rarely then it's realistic but if it happens regularly then it's a bug. Think about this one.

I found a similar bug to that. In truth, it's a half bug. This is what happened:

-Played front foot shot to midwicket
-Fielder caught it beyond the boundary rope (the rope in itself is a bug but I'll get to that).
-Commentator yelled out.
-The crowd sounds for 6 runs were played
-Umpire gives 6 runs
-Score changed and game continued on as normal.

I call it a half bug because in reality if that were to happen it would happen in that order, except the fielder would send the ball back to the keeper and the commentator would explain why he wasn't out.

Now to the point about the rope. It's been awhile now that stringed, angled mini-adboards have been used as the boundary. So far back then, that it should have been used in 2002 also. I call that a bug because I really can't remember the last time I saw a boundary rope.

another bug I noticed today was in Test match I played a shot to a cover driver and ran 3 runs when a fielder threw the ball back to the non striker end to the bowler and he didnt catch the ball and was an over throw and I ran about 12 more runs and the ball was just lying there with no fielder attempting to get the ball and after a while the game resume itself and only given me 6 runs instead of 15 runs which I actually ran.

In conclusion:
HB Studios tried too hard...

They attempted to make the game 10x better than 2002 but the 2002 bugs returned larger in quantity and more destructive!
or... they agreed to a release schedule with EA that they couldn't possibly meet, and rushed out an unfinished and sub-standard product that underwent absolutely no testing what-so-ever.

it is literally impossible that ANYONE tested this game before it went gold.

i think one day of testing could of solved half of the bugs in the game, but i dont think they tested it that much

Found a bug on the PS2 version, where if you were playing on a custom field, then saved, the custom field won't be there when you open the saved game.

It certainly is if you've forgotten what the field you had and it was a good one. It's also a pain to set it up again.

For some reason I cannot even set a custom field on the PC version. The little pointer thingy just won't move, and no matter what button I press nothing happens.

Although, by the sounds of it, I am better off not setting a custom field anyways apparently...

You're right. Surely they haven't tested it yet! There more bugs in this game than BLC and c2k2 put together!

NO DAY-NIGHT MATCH IN GAME MODES IN CRICKET 2004

You CAN play day/night matches. But selecting night as the sky condition (the setting with overcast, etc)....but only for stadiums with registered facilities.

What ever happened to the D/L Method????

Scatter in relation to setting custom fields....you can't set it period? You can't move the white circles representing fielders?

I will make a post reguarding that

not possible to play a day & night match

no killa we tried this but beleive me EA has left out this in the game modes, try to play a 50 over world cup match or a knockout match and you will see that both sessions in day only even if the stadiums are having floodlights in it

very annoying

bugs

Hey everyone,

I noticed two things that are horribly wrong and I would call them bugs because it -bugs- me!!!

The Wicket Keeper has issues:

When the wicket keeper at any time runs after the ball to throw back, he will -never- throw it to the fielder who runs to cover his position (behind the strikers wickets) He will aaaalways throw it to the bowlers end. This is highly annoying as it prevents many run outs. Not even if he is right in front of the wicket to pick it up, will he stump the runner coming his way.

One day games and edging the ball:

Has anyone ever managed to get an edge to the keeper or slips in a one day match? Never in any of my games has this happened. In every one day I play, at least 20 balls my bowlers bowl are missed by a millimeter and not edged behind. That is impossible. I have had one caught behind and that was off a played shot that went wrong.

One more thing though...since when in any cricket match do the opening batsmen slog every ball they manage to get hold of? has anyone ever slogged a yorker? my word, these AI batsman have super powers! also, every single short ball is perfectly hooked or pulled. -Some- realistic batting would be appreciated

Please let me know if you agree or not
