Cricket 22 General Discussion thread (Use bug report thread for issues/bugs/crashes | Patch notes in first post)

What is that one thing you don't want from Cricket 19 to be included in Cricket 22?
The commentator saying "This bowler can give the ball an almighty tweak" and when it starts raining and the commentators saying something like, the players are quickly leaving the field, followed by a cutscene of the batsmen taking a nice stroll off the field in sunny conditions and not a drop of rain in sight. drives me insane every time.

On that topic, how about this idea? When the players leave the field when it starts raining, it shows a cutscene of the players actually leaving the field QUICKLY, rain pouring down, and the groundsmen bringing the covers onto the field. In a club match you can have the home team running onto the pitch with the covers. That is, if you actually have covers... here in South Africa the covers most likely would have been stolen the night before the game so no need for the cutscene then. Good old village cricket...

For me its the Gameplay & the AI that matters. As long as the AI competes well & is smart, I'm content. Rest everything can wait or would be manageable.
1. Smart field set-ups
2. Varied line & lengths
3. Rotating strike
4. Going bizzark in the last few overs
5. Bowling according to the field set-up
6. No more free runs pls - through byes & overthrows
7 a few more :)

Would like to see whats the progress in WK and first slip relationship.. They always seem to dislike each other and distract each other most of the times in Cricket 19..
Ooooo, good shout.

I'll admit I didn't have C19 as I played Ashes then went on to other things, so sometimes I may well mention something that has already received attention.

In Ashes, selecting any slip position with an odd number was pointless. For example, having 1st, 2nd and 3rd slip was needless, as picking 2nd, 4th and 6th slip meant you could cover twice as much ground and it wouldn't be an issue. The ball never went between fielders as the catch mini-game animation had a radius wide enough to cover the gap between slips.

Has this been addressed?

Doesn't bother me if not, it's just a bit of a quirk.

I hope am awfully proven wrong .

But getting a strange feeling that the game will be delayed.

If that's the case, they would have said so right now. And if they postpone the release, I'm for sure would lose my interest in the game and that would make my holidays miserable. Better they don't do that, lol!

But it's better to get a game well built and if that can achieved by moving out the date, I'm game.

Other than that..... I don't want to see Acrobatics, overthrows, non striker reactions and mainly ball going though the bat carried over from C19 to C22.

•Non strikers coming out of the crease everytime when the ball was delivered. That was too annoying.

• Secondly, easy singles through defensive shots. Whenever we were in any situation of the game where we needed to build a partnership and build the innings, easy singles while defending and ultra slow pickup by the bowler was an easy way out.

Just imagine if this can be fixed, Ai can put pressure on us whenever we couldn't time the ball well or couldn't find gaps. Even this minor tweak can make the game more realistic I reckon.

I am expecting AI fielding to be free of bugs in c22. In c19 AI fielders made too many loose efforts like sometimes letting overthrows to go for 4 runs without any attempts to save it or bowlers casually fielding of their own bowling not attempting to shy at the stumps to effect a runout. Also recall getting out or getting a wicket with a boundary catch where its clearly visible that the fielder has crossed the rope.

When I used to keep slips 1,3 or 5. The ball will go through 2,4 or 6.

You guys play with slips? I never use slips when I bowl as I know the batsman would edge to the slips like once in 100 balls. Sometimes the keeper flies to extreme sides to catch the ball :P

I play a lot of test cricket, hence slips are always required.
No, I know. I used to do that as well. But the slip catching is not very normal in C19. Atleast in Ashes, I had a good deal but it was a major miss in C19. I rarely had batsmen out with the slip catch. But maybe I played it wrong or had some sliders spoil the way I play.
